Not much more than 100km. Good fun ride on country roads (with country hazards) and fantastic scenery as you head up the valley. :niceone:

Are you able to post a PDF file to print so I can spread the message?

Otherwise I will copy and paste some of the wording from this.

Looking forward to the breakfast and will there be an auction as last year?

For those of you who came from Wellington last year and didn't bid on the auction because you didn't have room to take stuff home, well this year, again some one from the house will be there and I'm sure we can bully them into taking stuff back to Welly for you.

Once again a well organised event. Well done to all those involved.

Al set a nice pace, with a regroup at Apiti. I did the random Bones thing and had a lemonade then visited the CXs previous owner off back to Ashhurst. Manage to catch up with quite a few folk who I haven't seen for a wee while, which was good.

Ride safe all.

A very good turnout of around 170 bikes followed by a very pleasant ride. That route is awesome, love it :D Great to see so many bikes out for the cause and the auction was a good bit of humour with some great prizes once again up for grabs. All made it around safe and sound with one bike throwing a chain, but sorted by the recovery team I believe. Same again next year then :niceone:

Thanks to all who attended to make such an outstanding event, those who came on the ride and those who came and donated. Special thanks to those who helped in any way with the event this year, Amazing.

Nothing official, but the figure will be around the $9,000.00 mark, simply outstanding, what more can I say.

With only 1 lost chain, therefore a nice ride on the back of a ute for someone, the event ran very smoothly again.

Thanks to all for the sensible riding.

The most satisfying part for Marsha and I is, we have been able to raise around $16,000 to help sick children and their families over the past two years.

So a big thank you to all the people who have been involved and all that you have done to help, especially The Ashhurst Pohangina Lions Club and Nobbet from the Ashhurst Inn who kindly supported us this year.

I will come back to you with the official total later.

Definately a better route with not having to contend with town traffic, pedestrians, traffic lights etc. I notice one marshall, Bunnythorpe I think it was, had backup rides for those that might run into trouble.:innocent:

Good to hear the ride was fun and good ... and all made the ride safely :) well done.
But unfortunately I couldnt make the ride this year :( waiting for a new starter motor to come from the US of A for my bike.. (A starter in NZ is $1400 new) and from the USA a new one is costing me around $NZ 210 (including airfreight).

Someone that was there and has a collection of stories and pics might want to do an email to the editor of Longriders magazine, I subscribe to it and have had one article published in this awesome international bikers mag. They are always keen to publish what the biker worldwide community is doing.

You can find them on www.longridersmagazine.com

Good way to help promote the ride for the future.
