A first for me, I have never seen one of these before.
At long last, a rear hugger that will actually work!
But, the bike needs to lay off the ugly pills....

I actually like them, not that i have ever ridden one, or seen one in the flesh even, but the fact they are different, unique and radical for their time, appeals to me. A bit like the very fond spot I have for the RE5 I suppose, that was a sales disaster to, but very collectible now.

I've ridden them, and they're actually really nice to ride. But unlike the RE5, I don't see them as ever collectible. Unless of course you own one...as like I said...they're near impossible to sell.

From memory the Hutt Valley Polytech had (maybe still do) a couple of these things they let the apprentices loose on.
You'd probably have more success in selling a Bimota Mantra over one of these!.

I like them. Even though they're incredibly over-engineered, not all that pretty and difficult to sell. They're an attempt to get something a little different into the main stream and they work.

Good bikes and a real innovative step from Yamaha when they dared to be different, highly rated by the owner operator of the FJ1200 club in the UK, high praise indeed but... It was relegated to a loaner bike because he couldn't sell it to anyone.
Not so bad looking in the flesh, maybe a bit radical for the punters tastes but the biggest nail in it's coffin from day one was it's astronomical price tag.

I reckon it was the detuned 100hp FZR1000 donk. Give it 145hp and people would look at it completely differently.
