Interesting experience...
Yesterday, I was faffing about the countryside on me boike and stopped at Pirongia Village Cafe for a well earned pie and a coffee. (Max! Noice poies!!)
Parked the bike outside the cafe and was sitting on the balcony just a few metres away. Watched several dudes come over and have a look - including one who got right down on his knees to peer round the fairings etc...maybe he was looking for lost money?
Anyhoo, finished up and went out to continue the journey. Getting geared up and three old boys and a slightly younger gal come out and go to the car next to the bike.
One of them comes over...peers closely at bike (but doesn't get down on his knees). The other three stand back to watch and listen.
Him: What brand of bike is this?
Me: It's a Suzuki. A GSX-R600.
Him:Oh. You don't see many Suzukis around...
Me: (thinking "Where TF have you been gramps?") Oh, yes, there's a few of them on the road.
Him: So what's it like?
Me: (exaggerating for effect you unnerstand). Oh - only a madman would own a bike like this - crazy bike - goes like hell. Impossible to stay sane if you ride one!
Now the other two old boys were smiling a little but the gal was laughing out loud.
Him: Well don't you go killing yourself...
Me: Oh, I've been riding these things for over forty years now, on and off and I'm not dead yet!
Him: Well, yes, but you slow down as you get older.
Me: Oh yeah! That's right! Ya do! That's why I got this bike - I figured since I didn't have as much get up and go of my own, I needed more get up and go in the bike!!
Now he looked pretty doubtful, but the gal - well she was fairly cracking up by now - laughing out loud. At least she could see I was taking the piss...
Him: Oh well, I suppose you'll be passing us just up the road a bit will you?
Me: Actually, I'm going back the other way now - but I could scream up and pass ya before I do if ya like!!
Him: (small smile) Take care.
The Gal: :killingme:killingme:killingme:laugh::laugh::laugh ::rofl::rofl::rofl: :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
Quite made me day, that did...
