View Full Version : Telecom: You suck!

I've been receiving harassing txt messages on my phone for several months now. It started off every couple of weeks, then became more frequent up to the point where this person sends me up to 10 txts a day, every single day. I have no idea who this person is, and I have never txt them back or made any other contact with them.

I called up Telecom about this problem, and they basically said I have to go to the police about it. These messages are not threatening and I really don't want to have the police involved because of all the extra hassle involved in that.

I'm paying for a service with Telecom, and the very least they should do is simply block that specific number from contacting me.

I have thought about changing my number, but I should have to if Telecom were to do their job properly.

I've been doing exactly that, but it gets rather annoying when you get the same messages over and over again, every single day.

If its an individual they are a Muppet as it must be costing them? If its a machine still a cost...Try calling the number.

The best advice I can give you is to ignore the messages.

Telecom are shocking to deal with even around text bulling and the likes,,, absolute shockers.

Nah, txt2000 or 5000 or whatever means it's already paid for and so the txtbombing doesn't cost them extra

Call the police and tell them you're an innocent schoolgirl getting 'cyber-bullied'; that's a buzzword at the moment, you're guaranteed to get attention.

Oh, if you are considering that option, sound like you are really suicidal. The whole media, government and Human Rights people will go nuts!

Agreed with EJK. Tell us all the number, and then the perp can receive hundreds of texts per day from loads of random numbers

dude,i note from your posts on here that you are somewhat of a geek

are you telling us you own a phone that is incapable of blocking communication from a specific number??

no, he's incapable of making a decision without crying on here first.

he's been given options, but it's more fun playing a victim - he gets much more attention

Two thoughts.

Ring them.

Or ...

Buy a phone that supports black listing, and black list the number on the phone so you never see a TXT from them again.

I can't afford another phone seeing I'm unemployed.

I didn't start this thread to get anyones sympathy, I just wanted to know if there is an easy way to block a number from contacting my phone. I probably should have made that more clear in my original post. There is so much wisdom on KB...

unemployed=thought us taxpayers paid for unemployed folk to have cellphones to help them in their job search?

Wisdom=you asked for it,you got it

coincidentally,KB does have a block feature, its free, and it will conveniently deny you wisdom from anyone you dont like.

and like you said ,you started it.:p

I wont text the number myself.

Couple reasons, the person whose phone number has been put on here may infact just be someone the thread starter doesn't like. The other is that there is no way to withhold your number from the recipient.

Give us exactly what the message says, including any grammar at all, though there are few of us who don't text in the language of dumb any more.
