Thats why they will never put the ACC on fuel we will pay less:woohoo:, and they will never go for that:angry:.
They will add ACC to fuel and drop off some of their rego and we will get screwed over again.
Bikers we have dropped $200 off you're rego but now petrol is $2.50 per ltr:shutup:
Sorry I just don't trust them scumbags (the ones in the $200,000 BMW's)
Looks to me the extra rego we are paying= to cost of their BMW's!

I agree bad move, but based on quotes being thrown around - we'd need to have the contract fully disclosed in the 'public interest' to see the clauses..perhaps even an OIA request would do it?
(No, I'm not offering :p but shirley media would be onto it...?)
I hear rumours there are penalties or litigation promised if the contract is not fullfilled, I also hear there's an opt out clause..
Who knows.. only the facts will spell it out.. sorry to take off topic..

No mention of trailers but I guess the ACC on them is minimal although it does add up!
We have 1 car a light (Diesel 4x4) truck, a trailer and a motorbike!
The bike, the truck and trailer are for our hobbies fitness, health and general quality of life!
The car is essential but the overall costs associated with the latter three items is crippling.
Politicians constantly badger the electorate about saving and preparing for your retirement.
We did all that to the best of our ability, only to have repeated (unelected, self selected MMP) governments devalue our savings, investments and purchasing power like, Shylock on steroids!
Whatever action you take, if you follow the instructions of the MP's you are shagged and if you do your own thing they will shag you anyway!

I have vored but its pretty meaningless i.e.less everyone honestly say how many people use the vehicle (including your kids)
eg. if you have 2 cars and 1 bike but your partner and kids use them its not the same as a single person who has 2 cars and 1 bike. (I asume this is in comparison with a person based levy)

True, they inherited it but they now own it, like when you buy something unconditionally!
Can't understand why they allowed it to continue under current situation, bad advice perhaps or contractually committed by the previous government!
Checkmate to Labour on that one I suppose! ( :o National)

A motor vehicle lease is usually for 3 years. I doubt very much that 'the reds' could guarantee anything beyond that.
Any current decisions are squarely on the shoulders of 'TPTB' (I fucking hate anagrams BTW)

Labour directed and sanctioned, through Internal Affairs, a contract to be signed for a nine year roll over. If Govt (regardless of the party) breech those there are serious financial penalties. I would suggest around the same value as the contract period.

I cut back from 4 or more cars and 3 bikes to 2 cars and one bike, and one of those cars is a freebee that I can't sell,so have to run it into the ground, otherwise it would be one car.

With the $1.8billion more than projected over the last 6 months made by ACC, does there really need to be a big increase across the board? Not saying it wouldn't happen, but does it need to happen?

Edit, forgot to add, 1 x pissed off V8, 1 x mild V8, 1 x pissed off big block V8, 1 x non functional V8 (which runs 9mpg when it did run...) and the mighty 1.6 litre Wagoon. Which pulls the chicks. And the bikes (it's the only one with a tow bar). How many bikes? Well, enough, almost. When is enough, enough? How much power becomes too much? Why are all the beautiful girls ugly on the inside? Are all the ugly girls beautiful on the inside? Is Inner Beauty like ZXRider says poetically - when it's in-her, it's beauty!
We get taxed on petrol. We pay GST on petrol. We already pay income tax. So petrol is triple taxed. Sounds like a fucking scam to me. In the US, the gang-sta's ride around in pimped out BMW 7 series - it's the way you can tell crooks from honest folk... Ahem...

Its a 2006 Honda Civic - same as the standard car. Looks great, sounds like a sewing machine. My bike has the same size engine at 1300cc. The electric motor adds enough spunk to take it up to an 1800cc equivalent.

It's shit to ride in town with a long 1st gear and no power down low. It's rubbish on gas too. I've had a heater on the back seat, 2 doz on the tank and my back pack full of misc stuff, so carrying things isn't really an issue..
But I want something that is fun when I get out of town.. Seeing as how I don't have enough manners to get a big bike and keep my license, can't really justify the expense of a car as well, I'm sticking with the status quo for the foreseeable..

Own =/= rego.
Ride equals risk (acc). Owning the licence that enables the ability to perform the risk should be the defining factor. Don't want to ride then put licence on hold rather than rego etc. Fall of bike while licence on hold or no licence pay to get yourself medicated.
My way doesn't make you pay for the risk factor several times over.
