Hi,
The right indicator of my cb250 sometimes wont turn on. The left one is fine but sometimes the right on either doesn't turn on or takes ages to after I try to turn it on.
A while ago the bulb in the dash which shows when the indicator is on or now blew and then a few months later (i have only just replaced the bulb) I noticed that the indicator was behaving funny. It usually comes right if I turn it off and on again.
I have very little electrical nous and would be really grateful if anyone can offer any suggestions.

It sounds like you need to replace the indicator fluid.

Sounds like a poor connection. Prolly corrosion. Maybe pull the handlebar switchblock apart and give it a good clean?

Thanks Fanny, I would fill it up but I don't have a left handed screwdriver to undo the cap.

Oh ok, that makes sense, thanks.

Like MSTRS sez - check for corrosion demons infesting the switchblock.

The switch is part of the current path for the indicator circuit, so a bit of contact resistance will dro the current and make the indicator flash slowly....so if by fiddling with the switch you can get the indicator to flash at the normal rate, then you have gubbins in your switch contacts.

I cleaned the contacts and it seems to be better but as it is a sometimes problem I need to see if it has improved long term. I will let you know.
Thanks for the help.

Problem seems to be sorted, I cleaned the contacts and put some crc on them.
Thanks for the help.

Great work - and a nice cheap fix too!
