Heading up Ormiston Road this morning approaching the new Lion Brewery (and very nice it is too, don’t do the tours though, bastards)…
…oh fuck it where was I…?
Oh yes, Ormiston Road. I’m in the inside lane, a queue of cars in the outside lane.
Now, don’t ask me how I thought I knew, but I was watching this White Corolla Saloon, I could see the drivers head was still (ie, not looking around at what’s happening up front) but something told me that this person is going to pull into my lane. So, I backed off, checked behind me (nothing, I was the last one through the lights before they went red) so slowed down and….well fuck me…..
……no indication, just pulls out in a heap of a hurry, doesn’t control the car too well as it goes right over the land and almost jumps the kerb and off it goes in a puff of smoke (literally).
Now, I am not professing to be an amazing rider and controller of motorcycles cos I am not, no way, but something told me this car was going to do that. If I had kept my original speed and line then, well, yeah there would have been some sort of altercation, at the very least I would have had to swerve and end up on the grass (or the brewery….actually, every cloud….) but all safe, sound and well.
I did get alongside this person and had a look. 20 something Indian chick, I think she was wearing iPod headphones but cant be sure. Left it at that, life being too short.
Oh well, on with the day, funny old world innit….
