Heading west on Auckland's NW motorway. After Royal Rd there is the long downhill straight, towards Westgate.
This area is down to two lanes due to the roadworks and massive construction site.
About half way down the straight there is a gap in the temporary concrete median barrier (to your right) used by trucks to access the site.
A cameravan has been setting up to use the radar through the gap in the median barrier. With the hoardings placed on top of the median barrier, you are not likely to see the tax collector until you reach the opening.
Speed limit is 70kmh, so beware if heading west!
Since this is a construction site, it is compulsory to have written permission to be on-site AND you must wear safety boots, hi-viz vest and hard hat at all times.
Wonder if the camera operator was operating legally???

And he's more than likely invited there by the work site management who are pissed off with arrogant motorists speeding through the work site endangering the workers.
Swallow a chill pill and consider those that have to work on the roads.
They deserve to go home each day in one piece.

Unfortunately there was nobody on the site to endanger. Just the camera operator...

Talking with another rider last night and he mentioned that he has seen them at the TOP of the hill as well (another opening in the median barrier).

There are concrete barriers down the entire length of the work site on both sides. 70kph is ridiculous. 100kph through there endangers noone.
