If you are a vodafone customer send a text to the following:

Vodafone FreeTxt: 'Quake' to 333 for a $3 donation, or 'Quake' to 555 for a $5 donation.

100% of your donation will go to the Red Cross Canterbury Earthquake Appeal

Vodafone will be legit, but people should take heed of the Charities Commission's warning about online fundraising:

On the tvnz website all the banks who are getting in behind support are listed with their account numbers for donations too.
