After finding myself out of work about 6 months ago, I was desperate for any kind of work at all. I had applied for hundreds.... yes, not kidding, HUNDREDS! of jobs and only had a few interviews mostly ending with bad news. Got a phone call one day and they wanted me to clean toilets. I hardly ever remembering applying for that one....lol so, of course, I had to take it.

Pros.
Its work. Not easy to find these days, despite what people are saying about "the end of the recession".
I get to ride my bike around all day to my various locations.
Get to work unsupervised, no boss looking over your shoulder every 5 minutes.
If your quick enough, you can do the work in half the time and still get paid for a full day.

Cons.
The obvious one. Having to clean up other peoples shit and piss and removing sanitary bin waste. Geez those tampons can reek after a few days..... nearly vomited a few times.
People treat you exactly like the shit you're there to clean up. Honestly, some people won't even acknowlege a "hello" or "goodmorning" in some of the places I go to. People really do look down on this kind of job.

I reckon the clientele would be so much more personable in Souf Orchland, the Norf Shore is full of stuck up shits, IMHO.

Apparently not the case, as he is having to clean them off the floor. So they must therefore be stuck down.

You are so right about that! I do this one place out in Otara, a factory complex that employs mostly 100+ kg Pacific Islanders that look like they've just been let out of prison.....lol they are so friendly!, always wanna stop and have a chat, and can't apologise enough for walking over my freshly mopped floors. I'm forever saying.... "sweet as bro".... secretly thinking "please dont beat me up sir" lol

I had the same job for about 7 years that paid for that. Then one day, out of the blue, it was "sorry Matt, we're having to cut down on staff...etc etc.

I hate companies like that. Whom was it (name and shame).......trust me you feel better about it.

Good on you for taking the job to see yourself through and not just bitching about it all like plenty of others.

over here they have full time toilet cleaners who are employed to spend all day in there, keeping the place clean and such

Singapore has the cleanest toilets i have ever been in.

Only thing is,its best to go to the "sit down"even if you dont need to,some of the attendants are FEMALE(usually 55 plus) :angry:and they are not above having a quick peek at what you are holding in your hand.........

The govt is planning on getting tough on beneficiaries. Going to be interesting if it takes a motivated person who is willing to clean bogs 6 months to find work.

I was always told that the most important people in a company are the person who makes the tea, and the person who cleans the loos.
If EITHER of them are away the place grinds to a halt and morale plummets!

If the boss fucks off for a month, things continue on without a problem.
