Police are urging motorcyclists planning to attend July’s Dover Carnival to ignore a poster encouraging them to break the law. The poster calls on bikers to use noisy exhausts and ride without helmets in the carnival procession, inviting them to "get publicity for your club and deafen Dover, riding without helmets".
Officers believe the posters, which claim to have been authorised by the Dover Carnival Association Limited, have been put up by a hoaxer. Traffic police on motorcycles will be at the event and have warned they will take action against any biker who commits road traffic offences.
