Here we are on day six and things are still a mess.
Because of the lack of power and water and cleaning up. It has been hard to contact each other because of cell towers going down every so often and so many roads that are closed making it hard to get around and the roads that are open are packed and broken.
So I thought I would start a thread for Christchurch people to write in that they or their friends are OK, so we can all know.
SDU and I and Dogs are fine, house liveable but a mess have power no water.
Plenty of bottled water etc and thanks to those of you that dropped some off for us.
Bonnielass is living with us now and is fine.
Last I had seen of MiSTa and Elena they were fine, house OK but no power or water.

Im currently living inside the cordon. If anyone wants me to pick stuff up for them and put it inside my garage I can try to get to it.

We are doing ok, apart from being a bit stressed. Glad to hear you and Sal are OK. Sarge is doing ok but had to go and get something to calm him down and now he looks spaced out. The cats have come out from the hidey hole in the lounge. I was getting a bit worried about them. We have started the big clean up and it is slow going. The men from Salvation Army and EQC came around and had a quick look at the house. Safe at the present time and just needs fixing. But it is still waiting assessment from sept 4th and has got worse. But we are ok. I no longer feel so attached to my things as I used to even though some are irreplaceable. Now need to fill in the paperwork for EQC.
All our love to everyone.

I'm OK, at home in Parklands, power on, no water, but I have plenty in containers. Family all OK. Contents trashed but replaceable, house has more damage but safe and weather tight. Bike fell over but is fine. Went to a mates for a shower this morning which was GREAT! It sounds like I'm off work for a while yet, so if anyone needs a hand just yell out.

We only just got power on yesterday and normal mains water pressure today. I've been swimming in the Waimak river every couple of days to have a bath (upstream of Christchurch, of course)!

I'm here. Still at home in Parklands with 3 displaced family members bunking down with us for a few weeks. Got water back on Friday and power back on Saturday.
Still processing how close it was for me. I walked out of the CTV building at 12.31pm following a doctor's visit and was still in Latimer Square when it all happened. Found out today my doctor wasn't so lucky.
If anyone needs water, there'll be someone here all day. Got room for a spare bike in the garage but no room for any more displaced people. .
Good luck to all Christchurch riders.

Everybody came through just fine. House is a good as gold, not bad for a 75 year old house in Avonside.
Bike suffered a little, nothing a bit of polish and few new nylon bolts won't fix.
Power restored this afternoon only to lose it an hour later and then restored again! :sweatdrop still without water and a proper toilet. Meh, least of Chch's problems.

Ted, Crowe and Flip all OK, house is a bit trashed but nothing important lost. We have some impressive cracks in every room in the house and the floor in the outside garage looks like crazy paving.
Nothing fell over in the garage which was nice for a change. Have power but no water, being a hunter we were quite well equipped for a week or so in the bush up shit creek.
Munted the work Hilux getting home on tuesday night, bent the drive shaft so I have to use my landrover until the ute is fixed. Hope work pays for the fuel!

I'm still here for the next round.
Family all good.
Tempted to take up my sisters offer to piss off to Queenston with the family and stay with them for a bit. A brother in Auckland offered the same, but it's, well Auckland ..... :bleh: I've another brother in Welly, but going there is like tempting fate!
I've seen a couple of KBers riding past today - getting some fresh air I reckon.

Im ok, Wigram Lodge came triught the quake without a acratch,
Its a pity half the fuckwits here have no appreciation of the effects this event has on the rest of us, but I would not expect much more for bludgers
Im back to work tomorrow, even if it is just to clean up and refill the shelve. Thankfully we will be back building ovens and cookers by the end of the week, Got to start the ecconomy rolling again somewhere.
I have been out around the city on my bike the past few days, I really feel for you guys out there in nomans land.
Hang in there peoples

there are a few offers of places to stay from both KB members and Southern Rider members, and on Facebook... and after the clean up it would be a good get away or break for yah

Just returned from TT2000, got a bit shaken at work beside Latimer Square.
Home pretty much out of the shake area so all fine. Provided water and showers for some plus lots of apples. Have spare bedrooms now family returned to Aus so if anyone wants a break in the country (Swannanoa) give us a yell.

Had worked a night shift and was sleeping when this one hit, woke to the ceiling & a brick chimney collapsing onto bed -fortunately I sleep on the other side!
Noise of the house being trashed in the shaking & the horrible sound of pouring water -the 360 litre cylinder had fallen over in the roof space & water was flooding the bedroom next to mine & my hall...
A sea of liquefaction engulfed the road,my drive, garage & back garden
My house has been badly damaged & I missed being red-stickered by the minutest whisker.Emergency repairs have been done & at least I can live here until the final fate of house is known......
5 out of 6 bikes in garage fell, and yeah! my beautiful new Aprilia was one of them
My dear nieghbour was in the CTV building....

We have all facilities and house is fine despite being surrounded by some pretty badly damaged houses and fucked up roads. Anyone who needs a shower or to use a flush toilet send me a text 027 603 0387. And I have room in my shed for a few bikes if necessary.
