Marokopa to Awakino, only 13 kms of gravel left. Any updates on other gravel roads that are disappearing?

Sign of the times aye....:( There is still plenty around, but you need to really travel to find consistent gravel roads around Southern Waikato, even then, they are of course linked with a bit of the Tar touring.....

Going by the amount or roadworks, I'd say they're nicking the gravel for them.

In the past 10 or 12 years Port Waikato to Awakino has gone from a largely gravel road ride to a sealed road ride with a bit of gravel.Sure you can still find gravel, but there was a time when to do a sealed road ride was to take the long way round.

The Gentle Annie from Taihape to Napier is being sealed.
Won't be long before Sport Bikes are flying off the edge of the road.
