I am in the market for a new leather jacket but have been finding there to be a real dearth of variety around. I've been to welly mc, motorrad, TSS and motomart but there is hardly any choice around. I could go online but I want to try them all on for good fit for my shape. Can anyone recommend anywhere with a good selection?

I was in Leather Direct in CubaMall ( 111 Cuba Street Wellington)a couple of months ago, they have the largest sellection of sizes in leather bike jackets etc I have seen, I was most impressed when told if you can't find it we will get it in asap from our main store.

pete has this for sale and i reckon you'd be a similar size
It's a lovely jacket too and it wont be an issue trying it for size, just give him a PM.

I'm very happy with my Leda leathers (particularly the jacket; I don't wear the trou much).
He can take his time though ...

Leather Direct, Cubs Street, Wellington (http://www.leatherdirect.co.nz/)
Great selection of bike stuff, expecially leather.
Saying that, i got my leather jacket from Bayride motorcycles, tauranga. They had some armour tech ballistic type jackets which i like very much.

Dusty makes fantastic gear, he's been doing it forever. My first set of race leathers were Leda Leathers, and they endured over 20 'offs' and were still in one piece when I sold them. He certainly can be slow getting you the goods...but they ARE worth waiting for.

not a good pic.....but
i got the jacket from dusty about 25 yrs ago but hardly wore it
jacket is lined with some extra insulation too.I have a two position zip so jacket is snug wether wearing just a t shirt or three layers, pocket inside and two side pockets both zipped.Cut short in front but with a longer peice at the back .He recently altered it for me and i could hardly tell,he upgraded protection too.

I am actually pretty interested, I need to make some time over the next couple of days to give it a try on. You are right, it's a nice jacket.

Selling it 'cause I'm too fat in the guts for it! But John, you can ring me at home anytime on 8018-666 to sort a time out if you do want to come up and try it on. I'd not be selling it if it fitted me...it really is nice gear.

I'm on the left; that's the whole zip-together set. $1000 all up, custom made.
The jacket has zip vents in the front, and open vents in the back - my suggestion, because I sweat a bit ... he hadn't done one like that before. It works ok, but I'm guessing big manufacturers who can afford to test jackets might get the airflow design a bit better.
It's a bit more distant than I remembered ... I'll take another one later.
