Can anyone tell me why there are two types of indicators for the zx6r?
Can we get the flush mounted ones as standard when we buy a bike here in NZ? I've seen a bike with flush mounted ones on Rapid Bikes, an Australian mag.
If not, how much would a set cost?

To meet the different standards in different countries. The flush mount are the intended design, however they dont meet some regulations in some countries.

Sorry this is a bit :Offtopic:
I saw a bike yesterday (almost certain it was a Kwaka - maybe even the one you're asking about), and it had tiny little indicators. I'm sure they weren't legal, because they were almost imperceptible when going, and obviously weren't standard bulbs, as they were blinking very fast. Bloody useless (even as confirminators), and a danger to the rider, if you ask me.
Yes, discreet indicators are good, and I really like flush-mount ones, but don't go silly, people. :weird:

I know for a fact Kawasaki N Z has both types in stock, Euro spec - flush mounts and the traditional OE type...
You are Auckland based - yeah ?
Talk to the guys at Mt Eden Motorcycles... The "flushmounts" retail for around $120.00 each, the rears are the same as the Euro spec ZX 10-R, Mt Eden also have some seriously trick aftermarket "Micro" rears and they do a hell fender eliminator style kit for the B2 and C1 636's...

flush mounted lights are 'European' and 'US' spec bikes, and are 'thought' to be restricted. The sticky out flashers are 'canadian' and the rest of the world spec bikes, which aren't restricted [to meet standards].
Like WM said up there ( ^^^^ ), they are about $100 to $120 each and bolt straight in. Same for the ZX10s too. This is the first time for ZX6R/RRs to have the option. Mine are just stuck with big holes when the ears are taken off... I'm hoping to fix that soon

Mine are staying as is. I want others to see my indicators and the flush mounted ones don't look practical, safety-wise to me.
