Not THAT horn ya grubby minded bastards - the one on me BIKE!
Managed to get water into the Stebel (Magnum) - over zealous washing procedure, dammit! ( I knew I should never clean the bike!)
Anyhoo, now, instead of sounding mean and "fuckoff" it goes "meeeeep" with all the venom of a sleepy kitten...
Waddya reckon? Fixable? Or fucked?
Ta.

Try asking the guy at fastbikegear.co.nz - he might have some ideas.
A bit of googling reveals not good news. One guy sat it next to a 100w tablelamp - another used a hairdryer.
I suppose as long as the forcce of air and heat isn't too hot - trying to dry it out that way can't do any more harm?

Happens to mine all the time when I wash the GB. Just take the horn off and drain it but turning it over and over as the inside is like a sea shell. Also a flat battery can make it sound weak.

Yeah - I'll pull it off and see what can be done...

Battery's fine - horn ain't...but see above.
I might just replace it with a Nautilus anyway - just bid on one on TM - seller is fastbikegear...course, I have to find a place to fit it.

OK team - stop thinking - problem solved...
First off, misdiagnosis. When I removed it this morning I found that water was not the problem - a disconnected wire was. The "meeeeeep" I was hearing was the original OEM hooter. I can't imagine how a manufacturer could possibly imagine that such a thing could serve as a warning device...
Reconnected lead and all is good - managed to blow out an eardrum during testing...note to self: Do not crouch down beside horn when testing...

My magnum started sounding like a weak fart for a while, till I realised a fairing bolt was touching the horn casing (I'd had the fairing off). After moving the horn a bit it's back to normal.
Thought it was a bit odd and I don't really know how to explain it unless it needs to vibrate at a certain frequency?

Ok then... Here's a tricky one for ya.. I cant figure it out...
Pulled horn off as it wasnt working, Gave it a clean with a damp (not wet) cloth, loosened the volume pitch nut a tad and away she goes! Well, So i thought...
Turn ignition on, Horn runs sweet and sounds how it is supposed to.. Start bike up and even at a few thou revs, It sounds though a bucket of bolts are sitting inside... Any Ideas?

The horn sounds like a bucket load of bolts or the motor?

Is it mounted right? Is there meant to be a rubber washer between the horn and mount? Tighten the horn back up a bit? Big hammer?
