Sorry to hear about that. Good to hear your on the way to mending.
However, not to nag... but if your riding a mini bike, undertaking a car is very reckless at the best of times... being low to the ground on a mini bike, there is little chance of being seen...
Hope you feel better soon

I second the little nag from placidfemme, but also hope all will be better soon and that you haven't got any permanent damage.

That sounds familiar. Did the exact same thing with my SV650s.
You think the guy is slowing down to turn right, when he is really taking it wide to turn left into his driveway. Would help it the prick had indicated. Best to let them start to turn, indicating or not, to make sure which way they gonna go.
Get better soon dude and get back on that bike.

Sorry to hear about that, mate.
X-ray doesn't look too good, ouch!
I've nearly been caught out a few times mis-interpreting what a car is about to do.
Get better soon.

Mrs Ixion sends her commiserations. she feels your pain since she also broke her elbow thus. (something to do with a condyle I believe - I would be unable to refrain from introducing a sundial into the equation). In her case it was caused by slipping on the back steps. Dangerous things steps. I reckon you should have to have a licence to use them. And they should need to be registered and have a WOF.
Oh, and no-one under 15 allowed to use steps.
Anyway, commiserations. remember henceforth , if a car is indicating left it will either go right, straight ahead or reverse. Oh occasionally go left. And the reverse if it is indicating right. If it is not indicating that is usually a good indication that it is about to go left. Or right. Or both. Possibly at the same time.

Some laws are there for good reason. A painful lesson learned I guess. I learned the same way too.

Um let me see if I've got this right. On a single lane road following a car you see the car behaving in a slightly erratic manner-so you decide on a small semi invisible bike to overtake on the INSIDE????
Sorry dude I feel ya pain really I do but DUUUUU
Hope ya heal soon man

A good reason why you treat others road users as idiots, because they usually are!!!!
What do you owe for the damage to the car??
skidMark
23rd June 2005, 21:59
don't know yet...but just got a $150 fine form the cops illegal overtaking on the left grrrr
Damn man, that xray looks nasty. If it makes you feel any better, I only got 2 weeks till my cast comes off, my break (wrist) was only like a 5mm little chip off a bone though. Hope you're up and running again soonish.

I wish you a speedy recovery Mark! And I won't say "don't do it again" because the truth is that sometimes we are not in control of the situation behind the handlebars of a bike. But when you're in hospital with broken bones it really doesn't make a jot of difference that the other guy was at fault. Ride defensively I say, assume every other road user is out to get you, and you may just get home alive!

All very good to say "don't pass on the left".
But if a car slows an looks like it's about to turn to the right how many of us ain't gonn'a duck up the inside ?
I still do it now an then, when the cars indercators are on that is. :shifty:
Still,a learning exspereince huh!!

Seaveral years ago I got caught out like that when a car pulled into the right hand turning lane at the Greta Valley Pub and I started to go to the left of it,but my alarm bells started going off and I got on the brakes as they then turned to the left to go down the Scargill road,I didn't quite make it around the corner on the inside of them and was probably only doing about 15km when I finally hit them, did more damage to the 4wd than to the bike but since then I've always been a bit more cautious
