the manager at 2n5, where i work 3 days a week, [formerly known as $2 shop], has resigned. theres been whisperings for a week or so, but nothing official. her husband lost his job, so she had to get a better paying one.
so my favourite person to work with has been made manager and ive been shifted up to 2IC. means my weekdays will be mostly full, but leaves my weekends free, plus i get a small payrise. ive also had to quit my cleaning job due to the increased hours, but thats fine. :niceone:
at this stage its only until september when "little miss maternity" might come back. currently, she only wants to be on 20 hours, so if she does that she wont get her 2IC position back, nor will she keep her pay rate. but then, baby hasnt been born yet, and im guessing her intentions will change once the reality of sleepless nghts kicks in.
so, this year is turning out pretty good as far as goal reaching is concerned. got a better job, rejoined the gym and loving it, and also going to join a model railways club to indulge that passion. hell, i may even sit my full license finally!
looking forward to making some changes for the better for the store. my new boss and i got together last night and made some plans [also had a few drinks to celebrate, lol] and i cant wait to see how things are in a few months.

thanks everyone! started my training today and get my privileges tomorrow hopefully, but i wont be able to play with them till thursday. this week its all about learning how to close up... cash up the tills, fill out the banking stuff etc etc. gonna take some getting used to, but will get there eventually.
also talked to a friend today and weve agreed to meet up on tuesdays after work and go for a walk around the main streets, so thatll aid my gym sessions. :woohoo:

I have just recently started a new job. I try to get out every break available to me. The job is such that sometimes breaks are taken desk bound ie; eat while you work, but when we can, we go out. On a good day I can get a 40min power walk in, split into 10/20/10 regime. Not bad being paid to walk :D

nice one, mom. my job means a lot of "feet time" so breaks are taken without argument, lol. plus the gym means im up at 6.30, and at the gym by 7 or so. will be nice to spend time with katie. shes one of my favourite people, but i dont get to see her often.

That is funny. I sit on my bum all day and relish getting out for a walk at break times. You are on your feet all day and relish a sit down
Hope it is all going well!

its great, isnt it mom? lol. bad me not getting to the gym more than once this week. got too busy. will have to make up for it next week, lol.
munster, i deal with the "tomy" range from the late 80s-present. you can check out my blog in the link in my sig. i dont have the patience to get into "real" modelling. at the club im learning a few things though and they let me help on their big layout which deals with hornby and bachmann. not sure what scale it is. i prefer the tomy cos its next to impossible to break and easily repaired lol. plus its relatively cheap, though shipping can be a killer. much of my collection has come from the uk.
