If so, be very concerned...

... this was sent to me by a mate of mine whose office is at home, so he has the radio on while he is working:

'News reports on the radio today about a Sun journalist who had bought
1000 names, addresses, bank details, pin numbers, etc of British people
from someone at a call centre in India.

Cue a spokesman from Barclays: "This wouldn't affect our customers,
because although we have call centres in India we don't keep any actual
customer information there."

So they keep the data in England and only let those troublesome Indians
access it via computers. Much more secure... '

I assume Spokesfool thinks you still have to go to the filing cabinet and get the details from a cardboard folder...

I don't believe that there is a Barlays high st bank here, although they probably own some of them. And none of the call centre stuff for the banks here is handled in India, they tend to move the Indians here instead.

Isn't that right GASL?

Barclays is large enough to cover for any minor loses. It is a a very large retail and investment bank.
