View Full Version : 1/2 decent f4 bike wanted

cotswold

Can any one help me find a 1/2 decent f4 bike that is ready for A grade (apparently I'm not allowed in the B's any longer)
Presently testing the patience and good will of John Steer by riding his bike and would like to find a bike as soon as possible.
Not too concerned what make or if it's a diesel or a smokie but would like it race ready and reasonably competitive,
Ps thanks to all the people that made NIC Taumaranui such a great weekend (despite the weather)

B grade !! Thats your new name ...1/2 decent will be just fine as a quick bike will take you to the front of A grade and we would have to change your new name !

If you want an FXR it will probably be faster to keep an eye out for a realistically priced one and do the conversion yourself.
If you are bike agnostic the Janes have three CB twins to choose from that seem to go alright.

If you need more power from these have a chat to John Conner.

Wondering if the reason you're testing his patience riding his bike is because you bet him on the weekend??? (along with most of the A grade, never mind the B grade).

I reckon something with skateboard wheels could be the goer, you might be allowed to stay in the b grade then.

Sounds like there needs to be a teams race for the NI series.

3 teams(Akl, HB & Wgtn), people from each area pick the riders (whoever turns up, 3 per team, similar to what happens at the cross country events), and just use the points they finish the races with, not too long till Tokaroa!

I wouldnt be to much of a smart arse about the Wellington riders. Fishy can smudge us over the track with very little hosepower. Will be good to see you at Easter.

Not a new series, just something else for bragging rights. It works well at mx inter-club and cross country events.

That's a pretty good post to fire up the locals.
If I recall last Easter, the fastest Auckland racer was lapped in a race by two Wellington riders.
Neither of those two have competed in the last couple of F4 GP's, but a Wellington rider has won both (on ya Andrew)

Henk
9th March 2011, 16:33
The club bragging rights thing is a nice idea but probably not a starter for this season. Could be something to kick around at Tokoroa.
Something along the lines of top three from each area for each round points get thrown into a hat and the total at the end of the series gives the result and bragging rights.
Might have to do a drop worst round thing to take the distances into account, there were no Wellington riders at the Mt Welly round last year, not sure how many Aucklanders will make it to Kaitoke this year and HB would already be at a disadvantage with only two riders at Taumarunui (unless I got my counting wrong last weekend).

The Fast Welly boys certainly haul arse I must say.

Nice shot. God forbid he gets some actual horsepower.

1 race Best 5 bikes and riders from each region 40 laps of some track. Instead of flag marshals we could just have guys sitting in bulldozers to sweep the bikes and body's away as the race goes on. Bit mad max but it would be war. As it always is.

I just love the Parochialism and it's great you all love your towns and have pride in your riders.
Someone much wiser than me said (when I mentioned I was a little surprised I came 3rd in the last round) that I was the 3rd best of the riders that bothered to show up!
I reckon there is a moral here "show up or F#&* up"

Yeah certainly home tracks are an advantage (boy have we gone off track of the original topic). It's hard to turn up at other people's track & do well. I'm usually quite surprised at the turn of speed the Chch boys get on Ruapuna at the start of the weekend & it takes quite a while to get up there. Mt wgtn is a particularly snotty track to learn & it took me many trips to be dicing with Dave.Dip. Kaitoke has it's tricks to learn as well, but at least the surface is pristine.

What was that wank Fishe got written up in the upper hutt paper? 'Flowing riders track comparable with Philip Island'

yeah think Upper Hutt Leader has a distribution of a hundred or so (how many people can live in upper hutt?, I only see a few houses as I go past Caltex Rimutuka:innocent:).

Posey wanker for sure. With his shinny up side down forks, yellow rear shock spring and custom leathers. And all the winning. What a greedy fucker. Why not let someone else pop the bubbly on the podium. Not to mention the way he rides. Its just dangerous all the passing and shit. This one time, well I don't want to talk about it really, but lets just say I still limp sometimes when its cold. Menace I tell you.
