That's quite good considering the bike is basically a faired Hornet 600 - a similar concept to the Kawasaki Z1000SX, but smaller of course.

A GSXR 1000 might not even have to change gear to do 0 - 160 - 0.

Hmmm 0-160 will be the fastest bit I suspect, back to zero will be the killer.

Found a reference to a 2006 GSXR doing it in under 10 seconds. Lambo Gallardo in 13.5 which is close to the 600f above

I didnt think it was all that quick to be honest. Oh, and most litrebikes will do 160 or pretty bloody close in first, so youve already saved the time of one, maybe two gear changes. plus it will accelerate quicker.

That aside, its one of those arguments innit? what constitutes 'fast'? 0-100? 1/4 mile? 0-100-0? Lap time? corner speed?

Or you could just say fuckit, and ride the tits off the thing and have a ball doing it.

I highly doubt that has any show against a thousand, considering a thou will do 100mp in six seconds flat, some possibly in the high fives? Impressive nonetheless, was it an ABS model? Looked pretty happy on the brakes.

Last test I saw was a Gixxer thou doing it in first gear in 10.4. That was in England to 100mph, I think it was the '08 model, if anyone can correct or confirm?

I just bought a 2010 CB600 and it seriously surprised me how much power it has brewing in that little package!

I think the CBR600F, subject to pricing, is going to be a massive hit! I was thinking of waiting for it to land here but after test riding the Hornet 600 and hearing the clipons were still under the triple tree I was pretty much sold on the naked version. Still won't stop me from a test ride though :D

Well, Im expecting it to be around 14k, maybe 14500. Why? Well Yamaha has the fully faired bike cant remember the model name of it, that has the last gen R6 engine with a heavier crank and revised head for 13990. as a comparison, theyre basically exactly the same thing, a sporty/tourery thing built with left over engines and parts.

If the sell for 15 or more, I doubt it wil make a hit, although the Honda's used to sel for comparitvely more anyway didnt they?
