dont want a virago. had a ride on a magna the other day. i liked it..
thoughts? have 3-4k to spend.. was lookin at a honda rebel to bobber up. then thought i better not sink a load of cash into a 250 rebel..
just want something casual to roll into newmarket, park up at a coffee shop and pose for the punani..
but seriously. im just on 6 foot, and weigh nothing 75kg i think..
just need something for the next year or so.. till i can get a big boys bike..
dont want a sports bike right now..

I've seen one advertised for $4500 not sure if it's still for sale.. getting up there in price.. when I reckon I could pick up a Magna for $3ish coming into winter.
What to do, what to do..

I've nearly come had one year on my Hyosung GV250, done 15,000 km in 11 months.
She was cheap, is reliable, and I can keep up with much bigger bikes on club rides. I actually left a Honda 600 behind going up the Waikato side of the Kaimais (don't know how much that had to do with rider ability) - she was doing 9000 rpm in 3rd gear on the last couple of corners.
The GV250 is a much bigger bike than other 250s, I chose it because I wanted to be seen, I've since drilled out the six pop rivets holding the baffles in the exhaust, now I'm heard and seen. Don't get anything older than a 2007, but these should be available for mid-to-late $3000s.
Whatever you do, fit a ScottOiler to your chain, it costs about as much as a set of sprockets and a chain and will extend the life of your chain dramatically.

That 05 suzuki marauder linked on tardme in the stiffmysister thread looked like a pretty good deal to me.

I notice some conflicting statements.. You said you wanted to attract the ladies but also said you'd look like a tool on a pretend Harley? You don't want to be slow but you don't want a sport bike? What reasons? Size isn't a valid one unless you're 7 feet tall, which you're not.

yes indeed. ill attract the ladies, they wont know its a 'pretend' harley..
the tool comment was aimed at the imminent grief i would get from the usual KB crowd.. just mentioning i know 250 cruisers aint a 'mans bike'..
no, i dont want a sports bike. over them. dont need to go super fast and want a more relaxed riding position.
and of course if im going for the cruiser thing, theres no need to get the slowest POS around.. the rebel isnt v-twin, and i thought the v-twin would be a better ride.. ?
