I'm about to throw this bike on Trademe. For auction. I thought I'd offer it up to KB members first.

I have owned this bike for about 2 years. I took it through the re-registration / certification process after the previous owner let it lapse.

I got the rotors replaced upfront as part of that process.

I can't recall the exact kilometres so I put 50k in and I will post up the exact km's etc when I check it.

The bike had some cracks in the fairings and a prior owner had drilled holes either side of the cracks and tied it together with cable ties.

I have removed all the fairings and done the fibreglass repairs before reassembly. I did forget to get the fairing in front of the engine on and didn't realise till done. I took a photo of it. I will fit it before the bike is taken.

I considered painting the fairings but then decided I'd sell and let the new owner get a good buy and deal with the cosmetics if they chose.

The bike has new tyres front and back.

I'm happy to put the bike through warrant before the buyer takes it. The rego is on hold.

These are great bikes and there is a forum on here for owners where you can get anything answered. They're a much more knowledgeable bunch than I am.

I can only post up 6 pictures but if you go to my album there is a whole bunch more there.

hey mate, look like its in decent condition, what kinda price range are you looking at?

I'm open to offers. The bikes in good nic except for cosmetic stuff. Someone will get a good buy.

If it doesn't move from here then I'll post it up on Trademe. I have a guy coming to look at it tomorrow night but he's more interested in the VFR I haven't put up yet. That would be the unregistered rat bike that would be harder to get registered but would meet his needs of cheap and suitable for setting up as a racebike.

Cheers

You wouldn't Happen to have the under pilion seat lock/locking mechanism would you? Believe it's the same as
Out of the cbr250rr and 400rr ( which I see you have parts for) all I've got is the cable, no lock and no piece or mechanism that goes on the other end of the cable from the lock

well, im only here for 3-6 months but miss riding so was keen to get back on, problem is just started work and we get paid monthly, but may get an advance payment for a bike.
i was almost thinking of buying someones bike and if possible selling it back to them at a much lower price once im finished (more than 50% though), this way when i leave it will make it easier to sell before leaving home to Oz.
i guess similar to that Motorcycle Buy Back.
was hoping to spend up to $1500-$2500-ish, maybe more depending on the awesome factor.
but obviously the cheaper the better chance of me getting the money within the next week.
wat u got?

well thats fine, id find it hard to find someone willing to do the buy back thingy apart from that company.
what price did u have in ya bike?
and if i did buy it, whats the market like out there to re-sell when im leaving?
dont mind losing some money on it for it to sell, but cheaper bikes usually sell a lot quicker...

would love to use for both
well, i have my 1 month work trial end on the 15th July, but im pretty sure they will keep me on, and if so will be here till maybe January at the latest (and if i can hang in there till then...)
i actually have to move out in a few weeks from where im currently staying so could end up either closer to work or further away depending wheres available, and that will definitely determine if i will need the bike for transport to and fro work.
then would love to hit the twisties/scenic tours on the weekends dependant on weather of course.
i think its just better if i not make a too early bike purchase as things could change too quickly for me to sell it in time to leave.
...
sucks not to be riding

OH yup. Yeah know what it's like not having a bike..I'm only getting Out on mine once a week or so at the moment with the rain, having difficulty justifying having it :-p has stiffer front springs, hrc cdi, modified pipe, rs250 rear shock so lots of fun though :-D I'm not in a hurry though, if I sold I'd probably end up having to find something cheap to keep the addiction under control :-p

yea, i dont think i would mind the rain, though i say this sitting in a warm house without a chance of rain. so im sure being out on the road in the wet a fair bit would be little annoying, but its still riding :P
thanks for letting me know about old mates bike gone already, yea man, you should keep ya bike, always have a bike close by for that quick get away.
cheers though matey
all the best

haha, yea, i think taking the car out of the equation keeps u on ya bike a lot more, no choice, assuming u also avoid public transport like the plague, like me, but beggars cant be choosers, off the catch the 6:08am bus to work tomora morning... :violin:
