This amazing Maori lady helped me today as my husband was having a (possible) heart attack, she got someone to call the ambulance and sat me down, gave me a bottle of water (that she bought for me). She talked to me and Mr Hellokitty and calmed us down. Offered me her cell phone to call anyone. She was so amazing and so kind. I wish I knew who she was, so I could thank her properly. I hope one day when she needs help that someone does the same for her
I have no idea why I am posting this except it is 10.50 at night and I have just got home and have no one to talk to about this as I am not going to start calling people at this hour.

Hope Mr HelloKitty is on the mend ... where you shopping at the time? Maybe she's a creature of habit and shops there, or maybe works nearby ... if you don't find her, pay it forward passing on your story :)... Be nice if Karma was real (not saying it isn't, I just dunno)

Hope Mr HK is ok now. As for the kind stranger I am sure she needs no thanks at all and that in fact being able to be of comfort/help to you would have been all the thanks she needed.
I paid it forward today. Stood waiting in the pharmacy to get young fullas meds and this young girl and her baby came in. They'd been at the doctors at the same time as us and she came in sheepishly and tried to quietly enquire about whether she could have an account so she could get her babies meds...the woman in a big loud voice said 'What, so you can't pay now? It will only be $9. You'll have to talk to the pharmacy owner'...he finished serving a woman in an equally loud voice told her 'We don't run an account facility, you'll have to come back'. The poor girl was stood there with an upset screaming baby and she went as red as a beetroot as all 20 of us waiting customers stood and watched...she quickly gave them the script and said umm I'll have to come back.
This same pharmacy have forwarded me asthma meds that I didn't have a current 'government approval number' for before and for the sake of $9 given it was almost closing time - well I was pissed off.
I stopped her before she left and handed her $10. She tried to refuse and said I don't even know you, I told her that didn't matter I had been in her position and I could and wanted to help. I asked her what the meds were, she said painkillers and anitbiotics...I told her I wouldn't take the money back she should use it to get her baby on the drugs tonight and promptly left.
I didn't need her thanks, I saw someone I had the capacity to help and it made me feel good to do it. I do believe in Karma - I know I have been on the good side of it many times.
As for that effing chemist...I won't go back there again - I was so disgusted with how they treated her, ok so they wouldn't let her have an account but they didn't need to treat her like a piece of shit.

I had a similar experience - a guy couldn't afford the $3 for the antibiotics he needed to treat an infection = he didn't get his benefit for another 2 days. I paid for it and paid for my own stuff. He was embarrassed but grateful. The bitches in the chemist said "oh you will never see that money again" Like I care about $3.
The guy came into my work 2 days later and gave me $3
People are so quick to judge and honestly some can have no clue what it is like to live on a very tight budget.
