It is how's Dannivirke, Wimbleton, that P place, Black Head Beach Rd(don't be shy), Long Range Rd, then left to the rally site sound? Mind with all these slips lately it may pay to carry an extra gallon of gas though. Well those of us with around a 220km range anyway. Oh and an extra litre of oil.
I plan to be there Friday night then head off after the events and see the olds Saturday. Then Napier-Taihape on the way home on Sunday all going well.

Rumour on the street here in the Bay is that this may well be the last Duck.
From what i have been led to beleive, due to the health and safety nazis, there wont be drums dotted around so we can have our own fires anymore and thew club itself is going through some sort of strife. Gotta stress, that is only rumor, i dont know anyone in the club...

It will be good to see you again... I hope you provide the same entertainment this year & maybe she will wear a bikini when you "drop her off"!

Well as somebody in the club, I can tell you that not only is this a viscous rumour (but hey any press is good press!) but we do have fire drums, outstanding entertainment, cold beer, hot food and running water as always!
Oh and a brand new stage roof so you won't get wet!
But if you want to believe the rumours then best you make it along to the last Cold Duck ever and bring all your mates with you along with lots and lots of money so you don't miss out on what is likely to be the biker party of the decade and many decades to come!

Have a shower at home, but we do have hot showers there. Not a lot of privacy though (sorry, shouldn't give the games away!).
On a more serious note, forecast is for overcast weather Thursday (today) and Friday, Fine on Saturday and pissing down Sunday. Also before anybody (Aucklanders specifically) complains, Hawkes Bay will have the best weather out of the entire country so no excuse for not coming!
In saying that, the mud bath we had a few years ago had less people but they partied harder, longer, drank more booze and ate more food than the fine year before that!
So don't be afraid of a little rain!

I have been unsure of whether to go, last weekend the weather forecast was looking horrible and my scootah had a bald rear tire and I had no money for a new one.
But last Saturday I played some poker and won $1K, today I got a new Metzler on the scoot and looking at the forecasts:
http://metservice.com/towns-cities/hastings
http://metvuw.com/forecast/forecast.php?type=rain®ion=nzni&noofdays=all
it really doesn't look too bad, especially for Saturday - Maybe a bit windy but basically fine.
So now I think I'll head on down leaving mid morning tomorrow and getting there mid afternoon or so. Are all the KBers camping in the gully again? Same place as when I was there 2 years ago?

Popped over for the Friday night only. Down passed Wimbleton, where I met up with Fish and his crew, then across to Parongahau/Blackead beach/ etc to the rally sight. Needless to say those at the rally that night had a ball. Dog's triple posed as a catering van, some of the girls got so excited they wet themselves:innocent:, and Nadroj introduced me to a remote drinking device:facepalm: Very handy and entertaining it was. You had to be there.:yes:All good fun.
Shot through the Havelock North and saw the olds, topped up the oil and gas then off over the Napier-Taihape road. Only 1 km of works before the Annie. Still quite a bit of pee metal so care is needed. There's a section about 3ks out of Taihape that's been dug up for resealing to be aware of as well. Spent the arvo having a grandad nap.

Was an excellent duck. The weather gods were kind I took gumboots and wished I had jandels instead.
Good to catch up with the usual suspects and meet some more. The trip home sunday was an adventure the winds at woodville had me heading for the grass, some gravel got me a little crossed up and the horizontal rain at shannon looking for a snorkel.
Had a awesome time "socialised" late into the night or early morning - the old body's trying to recover it ain't young as it used to be.
Fantastic Rally...best cold duck I have been to...Good to see the old faces again but sad that some others did not make the effort to show up this year...yes you know who you are! lol
Angie had a blast and had a grin on her face all weekend, she loved it ! ! !
Took a detour this morning to Masterton to catch up with friends, weather turned to shite....mind you we kept dry in the car....next year will have to go on the bike(s) again

A huge thank you to all who braved the elements to come to the 20th Cold Duck Rally in Sunny Central Hawkes Bay.
I had a blast winding you guys up with the microphone and giving out stuff both good and bad!
To anyone offended by my jokes, comments, or feels aggrieved by being made the butt of a joke or comment, take a number and join the queue! Or in other words harden the f@*k up.
To the rest from whom I received fantastic positive feedback, a Very Big THANK YOU!
I/we enjoy putting this rally on for you guys and if you've never participated in the organisation of anything bordering on this size, you will have no idea of the work that goes in behind the scenes for 11 months prior to the "gig" and for only 3 days worth of attendance.
To put it into perspective a little, by 11pm on Saturday night we had just about sold out of 12 pallets of assorted alcoholic beverages, and approx. 1 tonne of assorted food items.
For this again I thank you for coming and hope that everybody got home safely and with everything they left with and nothing they didn't!
I would like to thank the sponsors who give us all the stuff we give away and help with discounts, products and services that get the rally moving.
And lastly and most importantly, a huge, huge, huge, thank you to our supporters and helpers who do all this work (most of it hard) for love and without them we wouldn't be able to operate the rally as smoothly as it runs if at all! We all owe them a debt of gratitude for feeding, watering, entertaining, guarding, cleaning, heating, more cleaning, sheltering, lighting, cooling, flushing, cleaning and still more cleaning for you all.

Went there...did that!
An absolutely primo weekend. Narrowly missed getting pinged for a hideous speed on Saturday arvo, thank god it was too dangerous for the cop to do a u-ey cos the indicator went on and I know he thought about it! Yeah yeah naughty of me I know but I blame my man cos he started it and I was just chasing ha ha ha ha.
BTW the busa having fun in the games...yeah he was with my crowd LOL. Like that naked look? Cough! there is a reason for that, he likes to take it bush...yeah really!!!Apparently he is always up for anything and loves to give the crowd a good show:yes: hey its all about entertainment eh? Busa versus scooter...ha ha ha that was funny!
Hope everyone made it home before the really bad weather hit. We had a group of 9 bikes and riding the Napier-Taupo highway on Sunday was character building to say the least. I was on the CR and at one point the wind just shoved me across the road and off it. I just chopped down some gears, cranked the power on and managed to get it around the corner.
Christ it was a wrestling match! Give me rain over wind ANY day.
Despite that it was still a top weekend and I will be back for more punishement next year!

Awesome dude absolutely had a blast & your laugh is rather infectious .. you do a top job on the mic (cept you forgot to call my name for the spot prizes)
weather was absolutely ripper for the weekend & only the last 40ks did we hit rain but who cared!!!!
big thanks & hats off to all the organisers, supporters & sponsers top job, awesome rally & can not wait for next yr :)
just a thought for next yr .. looking at all the debris when we were leaving (not from our group I noted) is there any way to stick those massive sacks around the area for ppl to put their cans/bottles in (and smaller ones for rubbish perhaps ?) that may cut down on the clean up for the crew once everyone leaves

I have to agree you were hilarious on the micorphone, Great job! I have never been before but will definitely be back next year especially if the barrel races are going to provide as much entertainment, ha ha go nifty fifty!
If I had one complaint it would be the waiting time to get cards stamped on the Polka run- maybe next year you could have two to three decks of cards???Dunno if the logistics would work
Next year I would love to ride down with others as the ride from TGA was long and stressful alone ( especially when road detours are not properly marked)
All in all great fun, lots of, and a great variety of bikes to look at, and a fantastic crowd. Great work guys
Oh an totally agree about separating bins/ bags : )
