Here's a chance to get out there, lets get the grid full. See MNZ link for entry forms and just add Clubmans or Bears to the support class list and send it off :)

(no late penalty for these two additional classes:woohoo:)

See ya's there.

Cheers for the notification Flame. I've only been a bears racer for a week and haven't sorted out my budget yet:violin: so I wont be racing. Might be watching though.

What a fucken joke. Another club scrambling for entry fees to try and make ends meet institues two new classes 3 days prior to a major, two day event.

Rookies.

Not sure who your attacking here Jimmy,But I would hope its not the organising club,Who have stuck their necks out to run the meeting because nobody else would commit.

Theyve had too front with in excess of $23000.00 dollars too hire the track and at closing there were only 85 entries,Add to that they were advised to reduce their entry fee.

Do the sums and it doesnt make good reading.

Guees that makes the competitors that would rather be club series "winners" the villains ???????

No Jimmy, I think you will find that it is lack of entries in Posties class that have inspired the organizers to change it to a 'combined' race class....so that they have enough numbers to actually run a race. Posties only had a handful of entries. But Im sure those that have entered want to race :)

I'm gutted.
Late last year I was aiming to get my bike ready for the SOT. When I realised in late Jan I wouldn't be ready in time I looked at what else I could realisticly aim for ... hoping that the 4th and 5th rounds of the nats would run a clubmans class but no such luck.
So the bike rebuilding project got relegated to the winter project bin .. again.

I was gutted last week when when I discovered they did run a clubmans class at Hampton, and now doubly so cos there's also a BEARs class at Manfield.

I hope they get the numbers they need, but it's a shame for many of us that it's impossibly late.

Fair points both of you. Not actually attacking anyone, just a particullrly grumpy shit today given that my freakin kids had me up at 5am.

Good on the Manawatu Orion Club for taking this on board, it's a huge financial commitment.

Once again the competitors are their own worst enemy.

It is a huge risk for the clubs that take this on in the North Island. Good on Manawatu Orion and I hope it works out for them. I can't be sure about this but it seems that the South get more spectators and the track hire is cheaper. Why so few competitors turn out has been beaten to death many times on this website already, but it is the heart of the problem up here in the North.

I always struggled to understand how Vic club could run the biggest winter series in the country, subsidise entries for their club members for the Nationals and still couldn't get really good numbers on the grid

(I know Vic aren't running this one)
