my 250 exc is leaking oily crap from the power valve cover on the right side above the water pump
its not a bad leak but i'm sure it will get worse
taking it off to inspec i found an o ring but nothing to seal it at the back. makes me think there shouldn't be oil there at all
could it be unburnt fuel oil leaking from the power valve? (there is no carbon or burnt looking stuff under the cover). or a seal between it and the gearbox?
can't find anything on all the dirt bike web sites so i thought i'd try here

Hi, it this useful, see full thread link below.

You need to pull the power valve apart, clean it up, and replace the rubber Orings on the ends of the power valve pivots. Sealing the cover just contains the leakage, replacing the Orings stops it.
