Question time everyone? Lets ask him genuine technical questions, and lets see if we can get him to 'splain how it works. Fun? No? :niceone:

Whats an emery?
"--It also acts as a voltage stabilizer by storing emery for up to 10 seconds and therefore suppliers the load with constant voltage during momentary power surges. As a result, this power saver prolongs lifespan of the electrical appliances.--"
I wonder if they do a 6volt one that stops headlight bulbs blowing?

If it genuinely does change the power factor then it'd be good for people with shit power factor appliances, not sure how common they are, or what the chances are this does what it says it does.
It's to do with the way people are billed and the differences between volt amps, and watts. Wiki explains it good. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_factor#Importance_of_power_factor_in_distrib ution_systems

That's what I thought after posting. It can contain a little comedian for ten seconds should it be subjected to a spike.

I think it says if your exhaust is to small or coked up the engine has to push harder to go anywhere so it costs more to do the same thing...maybe?

Power factor correction is viable, installing capacitive pfc banks works for largely inductive loads.
Can't see how a plug in box that big can correct 19kW though

Did you follow the link? Commercially, some businesses are billed for bad PF.
I guess I should say, for residential power saving purposes, PFC devices are a scam

Yip had a quick read of the link.
My old work installed them because of the low/bad power supply.

My old work installed them because of the low/bad power supply.PFC devices are installed to correct an inductive or capacitive (non-resistive) load. Non-resistive loads cause the current to be out of phase with the voltage - the power supply authority doesn't like this because because they have to supply more current than what your KWh meter says you have used.
PFC devices DONT cause your KWh meter to run any slower at all. They only lower your current draw so your KVA matches your KW.
ANYWAY , many more auction questions are needed plz!!!
