No. That's not cold. -4 when I left home for work this morning, I took the cage rather than the bike and had to use 4WD to get out of our driveway. Yesterday's snow still hadn't thawed. :cold:

Yeah you guys get real cold. We count the decades between snow falls here roughly so its normally not like this. I did enjoy the snow when I lived down South though.

Wasn't that bad on the hill today. Slushy snow on the side of the road but not a lot on the road surface. Much more snow on the Wairarapa side, even though the wind was coming from the south. A few mates and I went over to Martinboro then out to (believe its called) White Rocks. (Out beyond the wind farm). Good gravel roads out to the coast. 1100GKs and FireStorms make a reasonable trail bikes, but not as good as the Pegaso or Funduro.
The cafe (choc Fish?) is closed, anyone know if this is permanent?
Didn't see any other bikes apart from us, but hordes of SUV shitboxes.

The Flying Fish in Martinborough closes for a month in winter to give the owners/staff a break. Should be open early-ish in July.

Do you reckon we'll have to behave like the old days and pack a cut lunch and picnic on the side of the road?

The view of the Clinton hills look not unlike that one - well it WOULD if the snow melted a wee bit more.

The Lake Ferry Hotel I reckon. We went down there for my bike's round the clock ride and it's real nice! Good kai (limited menu though I guess), cosy inside area and good outdoor seating, awesome view and a decent ride to get there. Not too much further from the Flying Fish either.

I had to take the GS in to town for it WoF today. What a beautiful ride with snow on the hills all around an a nice barmy +6 degrees. :ride: :ride:
It was only spoilt when I got home and had to break the ice on our irrigation pond to get the water flowing to the stock troughs. :cold:
