I'm still scanning my old slide pics

Now I'm up to 1975 with my scanning and all this talk of snow today reminds me of these pics from the South Island - middle of winter July 1975.

First ones are when I towed the bikes on the trailer behind the trusty Hillman Hunter to Queenstown and then we rode all over the place from there - the road to Glenorchy was still lovely gravel.

No power-saw (Taka) with us this time - never saw that guy at Uni after '74 so don't know what happened to him. My other mate by then had bought the latest TS250 the red coloured M version

Motu you'd love that sort of riding I guess - not much seal in sight.

Those first shots were mid-term break, then we went to Lake Sumner forest park again a week later - glorious.

No sign of the big rock on the climb back this time but you can see how steep that hill is. Riding on snow on a dirt bike is heaven I tell you.

75 was the 1st year I spent in the south island,first time I'd seen snow too.
