Hy there,
My bike (2009 GSX-R 750) was stolen from the garage of the hotel that I am staying here in Auckland (just moved from Christchurch).
I edited a video showing the criminals and giving some information.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WTOqOsMy6k
If you know anything about these criminals or the bike please help!
Thank you!

is the rego JF8787? i couldnt quite read it in the video..... just in case i see it around auckland since iam in CBD everyday...

5th April 2011, 02:21
hey man, couple things...
i tried to get a decent still of the rego, came up with first attached pic. I thought it might have been JF8787 like that dude said but ran a carjam report on it and got nothing. (edit: i did get something but it was - CarJam Report: jf8787 - VOLKSWAGEN CAMPMOBILE 1973 in Green) bit off the mark.
tried again with XF8787 and brought up 1992 Nissan Terrano in (grey??). googled 1992 terrano to see if it looks similar anyway, found second attached pic which looks very similar...
even though it says it's grey, that stat doesn't mean shit. i've spoken to reps from NZTA who routinely say that it's not a required field and can be anything.
so anyway, hope this helps a bit.

5th April 2011, 02:30
it does look more like XF8787 for sure...also if its not stolen plate, the thieves are more stupid than i though. Its time to pay $7 on the carjam and pay them a visit...hopefuly there will be maroon terrano in a drive way...

For about $15 you can go to the post shop and find out the owners details (name and where they live) or if you speak nicely to any machanic they can do the same via the online WOF. This is all assuming that the car isnt stolen.
If you do find the buggers, lets us aucklanders know.....

Dumber! If it was not so bloody serious and anoying it would be funny. What a pair:facepalm: one ray of hope is that when they get the bike out it falls on one of them, the bike gets a soft landing and the thief gets a broken leg...
I will keep an eye out for the Nissan, hope you get the bike back real soon and that it is not too much the worse for wear:yes:
Wonder if they are local to the hotel? bit risky driving to far with the tail up and a bike hanging out the back? I know they don't have a brain cell between them but ...
Maralc
5th April 2011, 09:19
Hey guys,
Thanks a lot for your comments and effort. The plate of the bike is A1AMT. The hotel is Bianco Off Queen Apartments at 2 White Street (Street behind real groove at Queen St).
The police says the plate is stolen and the vehicle. They identified both already. The guy left the shoe in the crime scene and the police is doing a DNA test on it. If they passed through the police already they can be identified.
Some people here maybe know possible destinations for a stolen bike. They can disassemble for parts, remove the plate and use for racing which would make easier for some people here to spot at some track. Any other ideas?
Thanks again.

Unfortunately there is probably less hope for me than there is for you as there were no videos and only a couple of partial prints off my bike stand, and both my bikes were really dirt bikes. These crooks have absolutely no concept of the saving one has to do to own a good bike, something which annoys me no end

Welcome to auckland . All the best for catching these guys - it must've been pretty painful watching your pride n joy treated like that by these twats. Ill show this vid to some of my friends and we'll keep an eye out for em. I am sure you have already done so but notify all the bike shops you can think of incase someone starts ordering body parts, mirrors etc that got damaged in the thieft. Let the wreckers know to be on the lookout for parts from your model. A total cunt called Seam Ginty stole a couple of bikes from me a few years ago and Andrew from the Pukekohe Motorcycle Graveyard spotted some of my stuff that Sean tried to sell to him.

I have a feeling these are the kind of guys that one of us will see cruising down the road at anytime. From past stories, some of the shit these guys do is unbelievable. Really worth keeping your eyes peeled now.
It's all very well talking rubbish but we need to discuss what exactly we will do in the event of spotting the vehicle/bike.
We all know the cops are fucking useless so there needs to be some sort of contingency plan and while we all might want to crack some skulls straight away, it might not solve the problem and get the bike back. There's only one shot at it I think.
To the OP... where is your contact number? Where are the VIN and frame number details ont he bike? Come on man get your shit together.

That was completely sickening, firstly watching the thieving shits case it then come back and manhandle it the way they did to force it into the back of the vehicle. I'd have laughed seeing the way they strained with levering it around - hope they both suffer from major groin hernias from the exertion so bad they end up looking like they have three nuts.
Seriously good footage though. Couldn't the dumb wankers see the camera? Strewth, what a coupla morons. Hope the police track them down, although the best humiliation will be the publicity that everyone is spreading showing these dickwads for what they are.
P.s. If you thought Auckland was a "safe" city, then you are somewhat misguided. We might not have earthquakes, but we have f@ckn crims who don't think twice about preying on anyone in order to feather their own nests.

Bit of a long shot there Kennif, that would be back when the Police actually had an interest in fighting crime!
Lawyers and the justice system are part of the problem rather than the solution today too!

Great news! Why is it that so often the Police do their job and yet we hear so little about it! My tenant's car was stolen last week and the Police found it and arrested the two scumbags who will be facing as many charges as the Police can think up! Theft of two vehicles, possession of breaking and entering tools, doing a runner from a gas station, etc. etc.
The Police knew what they were doing and they were right in your case and my tenants.

Can't you tell us more about it? How were they caught and in which part of the country etc etc.
What kind of age and background etc of the crims and what is the likely sentence that they will receive?
and what's the damage like?

Yeh right!! when the dicks get handed a $400 fine (like in the thread referenced), a slap on the hand with a wet bus ticket and Poor Marcelo never even gets the reparation for his Insurance excess!
No wonder the Revenue gatherers are all out behind their laser guns, more dollars for much less work!!
I've lost a shit load of respect for the cops lately but I must say putting on all that work and seeing these scrotbags get fuck all, must be a bloody frustration!!
Be interesting to see what they get! Keep us posted on the charges and penalties Marcelo!
Oh BTW pleased for you mate!!

Because they're the cops, and "fuk da police" didn't ya know? Too busy dissing to be able to report the good news. Same clowns who spout off negatively about the coppers are the ones bleating for help when it goes pear shaped for them.
Glad they nailed these two guys, hope they get what they deserve...good jail time.

Name and shame for sure although you won't be able to do that legally until the cops get a conviction.

They are more likey to get a slap from a wet bus ticket
Myself, I hope they get the shite kicked out of them by a gang of enraged bikers

Thats half the problem right there- the judiciary! An old friend (police sergeant) used to despair after knocking himself out to catch the scumbags then have the judge/ social workers go all soft. (After they have been defended by legal aid at taxpayers expense i might add)

It's not the Police, mate, they did their job and did it well, it's the Courts that make their job as frustrating as it is. They do their job, lay the charges and the Courts hand out the wet bus tickets! Get on the Judges' case, not the poor sods out there getting beaten up and tarred for our sakes!

Like Edbear said, have a go at the courts, its them that hand out the sentence not the cops, they did their job and very well by the sounds of it.

That is great news. I'm sure you would have rather it not have happened, but I think this is the next best thing.
I envy your police work down there. We RARELY... , I mean.. I have heard of it happening twice in like 10 years of riding, that police recovering a motorcycle up here. If your bike is gone it is gone. I have heard countless stories of individuals with CCTV video and just being told by our cops that.... too bad so sad, that is why you have insurance.... and they do NOTHING! So I am really amazed to see your police actually taking the matter seriously. Two thumbs up!

The judges that will be sentencing these lads are, just like the police, there to make sure the law is followed. It's not up to them to randomly change a law and give a couple of bike theifs 5000 years in prison, even if they really, really want to.
You've got to go higher than that, I'm afraid.

Ugh.
They don't "choose" not to. They have references they have to adhere to, previous decisions and the gravity, deterrence and denunciation of the situation - then add in early guilty plea discounts, mitigating and aggravating factors. It's not quite as simple as, "Yup, you go jail now k."

no, the judges set the precedent not the government.
the government set the laws and maximum. The sentence is there, they choose not to go out of the norm as the don't want any sentence to go to appeal.
And it is just that simple.

Having an opinion doesn't make Boris an armchair lawyer imho??
And why should we give up (as you say)?? Its only the judges that can change the guide lines if the law already provides for sentences they are not dishing out??
I don't think he ignored your reasons? Boris just wants what we all want a stronger deterrent! Fuck giving them discounts etc and bleeding the sentence to nothing. Simply turn down their appeal or give them even more time when they do! I know for a fact the police get very very sick of doin all that work and they get off for the third time with community service or something similar! The cops are as pissed off with the system as we are, arresting the same wankers, for the same things over an over!!
Its probably 1/2 the reason they can't keep staff??

Ah, but they can.
Judges may look to precedents, but they are not impelled to follow them.
Being convicted of tagging can be a jailable offence. Never imposed though.
A HB judge has recently set a new precedent, whereby he ignored previous sentences and sent the little shits to jail.
There is now a new precedent for other judges to measure against.

MSTRS: As I said, the Judge would've looked at the mitigating, aggravating factors, early discounts on pleas, whether they have community and family support, deterrence and denunciation and sometimes the onus on the accused/prisoner to satisfy the Judge on whether they can be trusted in the community or not. Just because there is a maximum, doesn't mean they CAN give out one - the implications are colossal.
It's not just, "You're a bad apple, DO NOT PASS GO." They have a whole range of factors to decide within the law that's given to them.
Reckless: Re. giving up, that was in relation to giving up talking to the other champion, no idea how Katman, Scumdog, et cetera have kept their sanity this long...
And with that I'm out! :) Glad it all worked out and the criminals are arrested, hooray! :)

Judge looked at all that, then said (and I paraphrase) "The community is sick of this tagging nonsense, and so am I. The law allows me to send you to jail, and that's where you are going."
He went on to say that any other tagger appearing before him could expect the same deal.
In other words - this judge has now set a new precedent, that others around the country may look to when they deal with taggers.

Whats more the law is set in stone, but the judges can hand out any penalty "they" think fit within the boundaries of the sentencing mins and maximums that already exist.
The HB Judge is a real person, sick of the BS that does go on inside the courtrooms and the plea bargaining that already exists here, I for one salute his stand and hope that the rest wake up and smell the rotten crap that comes form these arsehole criminals and DO SOMETHING about it as he has done.
The endless list of excuses, apologies and i didn't knows must be curtailed, if you do the crime be prepared to do the time.
Lets make the TIME mean something NZ Judges.
Our Police are sick to the back teeth of coming up against the same felons time and time again for the same crimes and for naturally worrying that these offenders are going to go on and commit bigger and more dangerous crimes if allowed( as they are) to do so.

Well that was an interesting thread along with hideous video footage of a couple of complete morons wrecking a good bike. Some one else's bike too.
Good on the Plod for catching them, its their job and they did it well. Credit where credit is due.
I'm not a lawyer but as an average New Zealander, I'm left with the overwhelming impression that those two morons will get an easy ride on this. That is really bad.
Perhaps a bit more of the "pipe-hittin' niggers, who'll go to work on the boys with a pair of pliers and a blow torch" mentality will do it justice.
