A new model from Kawasaki -- a parallel twin 650. Exhaust obviously inspired by Buell. Looks nice...

Not bad - looks better than the SV650......

Hopefully they will come out with an awesome SV650S beater too......

I'd say that's the market they're going for.

Prefer the styling of the Z750/1000 personally.

Now that's very tasty. Our choices just keep growing every year in direct proportion to shrinking wallets. I've owned the ER5 and that was good value.
That new fashion guru at the big K is really paying off. At Martinborough last weekend a group of us commented on the row of Kawasakis outnumbering all the other makes combined. That's a big turn around from the past few years, decades even, when Kawasakis have been a rare sight. That ER6 will make a brilliant commuter and mid-sized progression bike (like the SV650 is now). Well the new looks worked on me.

That does look a bit strange I must admit.

What is with the 'stacked' lights thing?
Oh that.

It's a stacked lights thing.
It's where they put the lights up and down, instead of sidey-by-side.
It's all the rage, you know. Vewwy twendy.
I might have to rip out my old style lights, fill the front of the fairing with bog, and stack me some lights too.

Hm

Very interesting. Very interesting indeed. It sounds very nice. In fact it sounds like a modern version of the old Thunderbolt or Tiger 110. A sensible practical workaday bike. with enough power and decent handling to be fun, without the downside of a sprot bike.

But I wonder how the riding position will feel afer 4 or 5 hundred km?

They say it's budget price too . I wonder what budget means in this context. Does anyone know if they're going to bring it to NZ

Mind you, I still have difficulty accepting that a Kockasucky isn't planning to murder me. Those emotional scars still run deep.
