IM SO PISSED IVE GOT A MICROSOFT POPUP THAT CRASHES MY IE , THE ADS GOT AN 0800 NUMBER AND AS IVE GOT THE DAY OFF TOMMOROW IM GOING TO SPEND THE DAY GIVING MICROSOFT POPUPS OF THE PHONE VARIETY, IM GOING TO MAKE EVERYONE THERE MISERABLE.
I CANT GET RID OF THIS POPUP IT JUST KEEPS OPENING NEW WINDOWS.
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Dump that IE crapola and switch to Firefox. Download it at www.mozilla.org. then download the popup blocking add-on. Cheaper than chips. Sweet as a nut.

Spybot Search Destroy to clean out system or if that cant help download Regcleaner after you clean it out put in the new Microsoft Antispyware http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

Short term fix - get Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/) where popup ads etc are able to be blocked at the check of a box.. and it's quick n solid.

with IE being quit? If it comes up without anything else being active, or just out of nowhere, then that's an app/ad-ware that's installed itself somewhere. You need to find it and kill it. Doesn't matter what browser you use, it'll come back in which case.
In Firefox, there should be an option about downloading stuff. Make sure it asks you about downloading stuff, before it goes ahead and downloads stuff without asking about stuff..

If you have kept up-to-date with all the Microsoft XP auto updates,, there should be a pop-up blocker already built-in to IE. Basically won't let a new window open by itself. I checked that link and its definitely Microsoft..its strange that it keeps coming up.

6 HOURS LATER AND ITS FIXED, I HAD TO DOWN LOAD AN EMAIL RUN A PROGRAM SEND THEM A FILE THEY ANALIZED THE FILE AND SENT IT BACK AND I HAD TO DELETE OVER 100 FILES MANUALLY , THEY SAID XTRA WERE THE REASON THAT MY DOWN LOADS HAD PROBLEMS, IM STILL CONFUSED AND ANGRY, FUCK MICROSOFT , SELLING SOFTWARE THAT CANT PROTECT ITSELF IS LIKE SELLING A CAR THAT DOESNT NEED KEYS , OR A HOUSE WITH NO DOOR

Wee you trying to download it? It is huge and would take ages. You should be able to get it on a disc. Someone will have it. Some of the mag's here had the disc included.

Sounds like it's time for reformat. Or you might have faulty ram if SP2 won't install.
