Don't worry, someone will be along shortly to say how it is an abuse of their power to pull you over for nothing, and you should be able to go about your lawful business without this blatant police harrasment of motorcyclists.

I got pulled over once and the guy sent me a "gift" pack from ACC for safe riding. It was a bike focussed operation to check compliance (rego/wof) and observed riding behaviour.

I would have settled for a doughnut.

Well it is. And you should be able to.

How dare a policeman pull you over for no good reason when you may be heading somewhere of importance just for an incessant chat!

Phew I was scared I wasn't going to be able to make that cop story negative. :innocent:

He wasn't pulled over for nothing. He was exceeding the speed limit.

If they stopped us and reminded us that even 1 km/h over the limit is speeding, we'd get used to the fact that the speed limit is the speed limit.

Worry not, I expect derision for this. This is KB after all. It's just a wee comment on how we have come to think that the tolerance of 10 km/h has actually set a de facto limit we are entitled to. We're not.

Donuts.

Don't worry, some arsewipe lawyer and weak kneed judge will let you off with a slap on the wrist if you promise to become a real criminal in the future!

It is NOT compulsory to stop for a police officer if signalled to do so-
I have video proof!

Yeah we have to stop when they signal, it's the law and all that hooplah

HOWEVER if I am not speeding or doing anything wrong I'd resent being pulled over just to hear some guy I don't know tell me a boring story about how he also happens to have a motorbike in his garage...'yes that's nice dear now pull over someone who gives a shit, can I go now?!' Whipdefuckingdoo quite frankly...

The tolerance is in place because of human error, speedo error (even just worn/new tyres make difference) and mostly because you radar guns are inacurate, thats why its called "tolerance"....otherwise enjoy the overloaded courts with everybody disputing their 1km/h over the limit tickets!

but i do like how you managed to spin it as ...tolerance is "god's gift" from mighty police to us peasants, while in fact its just common sense that you guys came up with yourself....
