not too much to tell really, wicked ride using the rear end of karapoti for the main loop but the real gem was the incorporation of cooks forrest which we can't normally get into. it was basically a 15-20 min A loop extreme blaster Mcawesomeness. Super steep and slippery (possibly similar your first missus in that respect)

Was fishing for a response for anyone else who went... Pete KTM? got a gps map for us? I wanna figure out a way to get in for my own private viewing of cooks forrest lol

sorry bit slow, had to watch the red cars suck at F1 first.

doesn't that place *eva* dry out? but yeah a whole lot of fun, just wish they made tyres that could hook up on damp greasy clay. don't know how i didn't drop it.

some pics @ http://www.kaseus.net/gallery/bulls-run-road-trail-ride-110410

and the maps: (but being pussies i don't think we did the A loop of the track to the right)

Pete good to see you have a new camera, I was one of the 3 road legal Yamahas(pic 8). We also avoided the A loop but had heaps of fun in Cooks and the shortcut down to the motocross track. There was a simultaneous drop on Toitoi Rd's greasy clay and enjoyed the ride up the creek. The highlight for me was Cooks – which I went thru 4 times. Thanks to the club volunteers for a great ride.

was using my old one and only started to remember how to get a decent shot in the bush about half way through the ride. hopefully now AMI has all my tax $ they can payout on my claim.

gotta love it when you can ride to the ride!

Vid of the cooks forrest loop.

kick arse vid!

pity cameras don't really show just how step the terrain is.

might just have to do it all again on the 1st may!

Your original soundtrack is much better :woohoo: and I like to hear a bike's exhaust.

Nice work on the vid kezza. Gotta agree with andy - hearing the engine noise is better than music. Your mate's keen not wearing goggles. Those hills look nice and steep even with the camera always flattening them out.

What helmet cam you using? GoPro?

That last part of the vid where you drop down from the forest back to the mx track was included in the enduro there 2 years ago (we watched - didn't ride). Watching Stefan Merriman and the other top guys accelerating hard down that slippery semi rutted track was pretty impressive.

Yeah the party boy version was a quickie made up afterwards for my mate (the guy with the cam) I'm the no goggled chap. The foam on my goggles was falling to bits and annoying me and because there was no dust i went without.

Yeah it's a go pro non HD. Stretched slightly to fit the widescreen format of youtube.

Yeah i did that enduro, twas epicly hard that day. super slippery. Had a wicked high speed crash at the top of toi toi rd in the clay then snapped my rear brake lever clean off the bike by cornering around a stump a bit too close. At the very start of the day a branch whalloped me in the face (no goggles once again) and split my eyebrow open so i rode the rest of the day with blood in my eye. Was a very hard day lol. Ended up with a DNF ha haaa

Love the vid clips Kezza and as always great photos PeteKTM!
I so wish I'd done this ride now - knew I shouldn't have done that fun run when I saw all the bikes heading in the oppostite direction...!

We're all go for another ride this Sunday (1st May) and have added a couple of new loops just for fun. Kezza bring your camera and ride report. We're talking about adding some semi extreme obstacles to parts of the MX track and running Enduro races one day. Always looking for new helpers and fresh ideas.:woohoo:

Yeah my M12 has gone from great to not so great, I was slipping around a heap at the rear.

having cleaned my bike I reserve a special swear for the induhvidual who supplies the number labels. C'mon guys, why do they have to be enormous, paper & permanent adhesive? Takes 10 min just to pick the frigging thing off the front of your bike.

Yeah I do have to say it was well run. They even said that the track was changing during the day, unlike the Mt Biggs ride I went on which was a surprise.

Hey Dave,

Have been told De-Solv-it is the answer, but I haven't had to remove too many stickers since I found some in Mitre 10.

Desolvit takes off the sticky residue, but the problem is the label itself is paper & just rips as you try to remove it. [Eastend accent] Drives me mentul.

get the paper wet and rub it with a rag. As is often the case... the wetter the better. then use petrol to get the rest off. 2 minute job, 3 max

F5 Dave
2nd May 2011, 18:01
that's what I did, more like 10 min & gee if it was a proper label it would have peeled off just like that but with no danger falling of mid ride.

kezzafish
2nd May 2011, 18:59
It wasn't wet enough (as is occasionally the case). you should spray and walk away (always the case)

We're not talking about bike stickers any more now are we?

who can tell, but a vinyl label would have solved the issue in a 1 second 'shiiick' maybe followed by a wipe.
