My Vespa GTS250 goes in to Trevor Pierce Yamaha (Christchurch) today.I have instructed them to replace the fuel pump with the new one that I supplied,to realign the headlight with the front wheel and to warrant my vehicle. What sort of service should I expect from them? And has anybody had a bad experience dealing with them?
People often refer me to Citizen's Advice, but thing is that although they're allowed to give you a list of names, they're not allowed to tell you what they know, because that's called endorsement, which is against their charter,so what sort of advice do you call that then?
No!What actually happens is that you're left having to allow all the bad ones to rip you off,in order to find the good 1 who won't.
I'm a firm adherent of leading by example and feel morally responsible to put it out on the internet about any fly-by-night-cowboys who are operating in our communities ripping off our neighbours.Personally just because they might not live right next-door to me,if they live on my street, they're still my neighbours, living in my neighbourhood.

So you've sent your bike in to get fixed expecting to be ripped off, and are complaining that nobody will tell you whether it will happen or not.

Not a lot of faith in human kind then?

Can't wait to read your rant about how these guys ripped you off as well.

Neighbours, Everybody needs good neighbours
With a little understanding
You can find the perfect blend
Neighbours...should be there for one another
That's when good neighbours become good friends
Ooh Neighbours, should be there for one another
That's when good neighbours become good friends.

I have no doubt whatsoever that you're going to get absolutely shocking service.

You will then grizzle and moan on the internet to anyone who will listen.

Has someone called poor old Trevor Pierce and told him some moaning arsehole is about to rubbish his business online?

to realign the headlight with the front wheel and to warrant my vehicle.
I know that TPY are good enough to use spanners, screwdrivers and a whole plethora of hand, and other, necessary tools to align your headlight, not your front wheel. And, as you say it's a Vespa, I'd warrant it's a vehicle as well.

Perhaps, also, you may have considered asking for references before you allowed the creeping paranoia to launch forth. TPY have done good doing a few bits-and-pieces on my pride and joy. And they've let me test-ride Tenere's of both sizes. Mmmmmm - Tenere...
