long time listener, first time poster, ride a honda but am not gay :blink:
got my learners and bike sorted and am looking to go riding asap (just around my area till i get confident) but am unsure as to what tyre pressure i should be running or where i can find this info on the bike (back tyre says "Max load: 300kg at 290 kpa (43psi) US only" or something)
riding a 1998 vtr 250 and its running Sport Demon tyres
any help would be great

It's on Kitten's chain guard... 200kpa front and 225kpa rear from memory. This is the manufacturer's recommendations for that bike, sometimes the tyre manufacturer will provide their own numbers, but normally say, refer to the bike manufacturer.

Calling your bike "kitten"? Sounds like you might indeed be a sausage-fest candidate afterall.
Welcome to KB.

Welcome to Kiwibiker.
There are 2 tyre pressure for you to consider. One is the recommended tyre pressure of the tyre's manufacturer (what their lawyers say) and the other is what Honda's lawyers believe to be best for the bike.
If you can't see the pressures printed anywhere on the bike, then download the handbook and you will then have the Honda Lawyer's version.
If you are a bit heavier or a bit lighter than 'Mr Average', you may wish to consider ignoring the lawers and adjusting the rear tyre pressure by a few pounds to compensate for this.
Good luck.

200kpa = 30psi
Our 2007 VTR250 ran the above (front and rear) and was fine. good tyre wear characteristics and predictable tyre performance.
