Hi Guys,
So I have finally kicked off my trainer wheels and I am now the proud owner of a stock 09 Street Triple.. I have already ordered my tail tidy and I'm now looking at exhaust options.. After only a couple of weeks on the hunt my brains are already running out my ears.. :gob: There are SOOO many options!! So I thought I would use my first Kiwi Biker post to ask for opinions.. What is the consensus of 3 into 1 over twin pipes?? What should I avoid?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.. I await your replies.. :corn:

I'm quite partial to the Chain Reaction Moto exhausts:
dual high mount:
http://www.chainreactionmoto.com/products/Triumph-Street-Triple-Dual-High-Mount.html
Low mount:
http://www.chainreactionmoto.com/products/Triumph-Street-Triple-GP-Low-Mount-Exhaust.html
I have the high mount on the Speed Triple. I wanted to maintain the symmetry, heard that the longer pipes develop more power (probably not much but hey) and doesn't cover the wheel (single sided swingarm on the speedy). Check out my album:

I went for the Micron option, as they went bust a year or so back and their pipes are as good as Arrows, but far cheaper

Have a browse round this site:
http://www.street-triple.co.uk/
Every exhaust option has been discussed and lots of pics posted on there - just use the search function.
Whatever you go for just remember that postage to NZ is an expensive exercise and adds considerably to the total cost.

I bought on-line. the guy who makes them is called Bob Floyd. He's a good man. He'll answer any questions you have. They ship from Nevada. Build quality is excellent. you don't get any discolouration and they are warm (not scalding hot) to the touch after a ride (no need for heat shields). This might be due to removal of the CAT converter the bike came with, more than the CRM mufflers. Anyhow..... they run cooler with no risk of burning.
Importing them is not cheap, even thought the NZD is quite strong against the USD at the moment. Remember, you'll get stung for GST and duty and bio-security fee, then GST on the fee etc... not to mention shipping.

+10
Cause I've dealt with him more times than I've had hot dinners..........eh Dave:facepalm:
If you haven't already guessed, I'm a big fan of the CRM high mounts. They look and sound fantastic!
I also agree with everything else Dave said, with one added extra. Any damaged exhaust part can be purchased separately, whether that be a complete muffler, skin, baffle, end-caps, badges, re-packing kit etc.

I promise i'll write a review this weekend. They sound like Thor got punched in the face by Dennis Hopper.

Do you have Neptune cans on your bike Gubb?? Always keen to support local manufacturers although the CRM cans do look pretty sweet.. Oh the decisions!!

I think many people are confusing the Street for the Speed.
And yeah Azza, that's mine in the pics.

I'm looking at replacement cans too - really want to keep the twin underseat pipes.
Neptune's sound like a good option (like the way they look too!), Arrow's are just too much ($2.3k!) although 2 Brothers ones are on eBay for US$700 shipped? (so NZ$1k landed?).

The titanium Arrows are awesome. I prefer the highmount look and they offer more ground clearance on right-handers (when you really heel it over on corners).
Buy my exhausts ($16900) and get the most pimped out Street Triple around for free!!!: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=367281554

These guys have a good list of exhausts, although you will find cheaper elsewhere.

I had an 07 Street Triple, I put the Leo Vince GP underseat cans on and matched with
a Tuneboy map.
Huge difference in torque and response - reved alot more freely.
Nice build quality, they looked great ... sounded very angry even with the DB killers in. It became an earplug bike.
I highly recommend using Tune boy, Power commander or other system to set the fueling after putting on your new cans. Get that fuel/air ratio sorted. The Triumph ones you can get from the dealer just dont cut it - unless you putting on an Arrow.
DONT FORGET THE FUELING <-------- !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the time you add Import Taxes and GST, you'll be looking at $1500.
I was looking at the Zard Penta before I stumbled across Neptune, mainly because they look so unique.

Forget TuneBoy or Power Commander. Check this out, all you need is an $18 cable.

I used TuneECU for the first time today on the Bonneville SE. Worked well once I got up and running.

Blue Flame do a nice set of pipes for your bike and they have a special on, plus our dollar is good against the pound. Not sure if I have the correct model in this link, but you'll find it.

It's a very cool piece of kit. I altered the temp when the radiator fan kicks in to a bit lower, and will be changing the speedo correction when I put on my new smaller front sprocket.
Not bad for nix.
