VERY glad I paid the extra to get it off a local retailer. Swapped same day without hassle.

Looks like something you would find in a Christmas cracker eh?
If you have the suction cup mount best you figure out how to release it before you stick it to something. When i get home tonight my first job is to figure this out so I can remove mine from the oven door......

Its a bloody good suction cup. Easy to remove though. Just flick the little handle back down and it releases most of its suction. Then you just peel it off carefully.

Sticks like shit to a blanket springs to mind. I got the little bugger off eventually, figured the handle needed to be down (eventually) & pull its little tongue till something gives. Sticks to the bedroom wall too..:innocent:

Hope they've improved. Had one of the earlier ones. Eat batteries whihc had a habit of dying partway through shot (the best take needless to say) and could never be sure it was on or off - needed a red light which could be seen from the rear.
Nice and light though - big plus for that.

It is still a little difficult telling if it is on or off. The small LCD screen tells you.

Post your thoughts / results. I have not had a chance to look at helmet or bike mounting yet.
I've been wandering around filming everything to get an idea of what it's good at & what not. Not good in low light but better than my camera. Very stable images & the quality is freaky good. Well, to a newb like me.
Might get the chance to stick it on me head this arvo & go for a blat.
A pootube video suggested using a lanyard attached to the camera housing for back up security should the camera mount get knocked off. Smart.
I need to figure out how to stick it on the dog too. Bull Terrier Cam:woohoo:

Thinking of grabbing one of these (http://www.ramsolutions.co.nz/lifestyle/shop/motorbikes/gopro-camera-mount) so I can use some of my other ram gear - and more secure than those adhesive mounts and the suction cup.
Should make it easy as to fit to the Connie. Still scratching my head about the best mounting for on the DL - and worried about the V-twin vibes. Off to play in the shed...

Using the suction cup and one of the other arms. Suction cup is between rider and the fuel tank cap. Seems pretty solid but I'm gonna get a lot of bike in the video...
Image is taken from some short video (and shrunk a bit) so quality definitely looks good.

Had it on the wrong settings so the tank cam should have been looking more over and around the screen rather than straight through it.

I just got mine from ebay landed for $350 last week.
I really like the camera, the only downside to it is the clip on the top. its really fragile compared the old gopro standard.
have a look at this link for tips on how to close the camera without breaking the case clip

OK, so I went for a wee pootle with the camera mounted on the tank and while it stayed there just find it's obviously not the best mounting point for the camera - I want more scenery and less bike.
Other than that the camera was sweet as and the video turned out pretty good. Another issue I currently have is that You Tube doesn't seem to like the avi files my editing software uses and the sound gets all distorted. The sound on the raw files is actually not too bad but this issue means I have to use the Audioswap feature on You Tube or you just get horrible noise.

I just realised i don't have it myself. You don't appear to have any good options though. You could go uncompressed but the file size will be huge.

YouTube accepts the native resolution from the go pro as an upload, that's what I use. I chop the bits out of the video I don't want and upload the rest.
Awesome camera.

I am using MPEG Streamclip, really easy to use and it's free.
I haven't tried joining clips together, as I have only edited race footage i.e. chop out the beginning warm up and end ride back to the pits.
Here is an example of what it looks and sounds like

Buckets are awesome!!!!
There are a few Palmy bucket races, they come down fairly often.
This Easter (Saturday and Sunday) there is bucket only racing at the track, you should come along if you can.
