Club Notice update

Hi all, With the wonderful numbers we are having we all need to mindful of a few things that surround safety for riders and other competitors.

Body armour: Please ensure that you all ride with body armour this is for your protection.

Bark Busters: You are not required to have them, however if you are riding with bark busters on these should not be of any metal construction. Some riders are turning up with a metal type this is not suitable for motocross. This also goes alongside with stands on your bikes. This is for your safety and for the safety of other riders.

To help with rider’s safety the club has purchased radios to keep in contact with our flag marshals, and other members running the meeting, this will help us in case of accidents so you don’t have to wait too long for assistance.

To assist our lap scorers, who do a awesome job, and to assist when adding points up
Please ensure you have 3 visible set of numbers on your bike, and that these are visible at the commencement of each race. This will aid in getting your points accurate.

On this note if anyone is available to assist in lap scoring please make your self known as we are short on the ground in this area. The same people are doing this for the whole meeting and this is a big ask for anyone, so anyone who can help please see either Craig Pollock or Janice Blackwood. Furthermore if anyone else wants to get involved on meeting days to help with running of the meeting please contact Wayne or Janice Blackwood, your help will be most appreciated.

Race format: As you can see on this site our start times have changed. Sign on is now between 8:00– 9:00. Briefing will start at 9:00 sharp. Practice will start at 9:30. We are not allowed to start any bike before this time under the conditions of our resource consent. Your punctuality will be greatly appreciated and will enhance the management of our time and allow all riders to enjoy full race times. With the increased rider numbers and our time frame to work with under the resource consent it is imperative that we stick to these times.

I will be there having a jam in MX 1 Support. I have ridden a total of 20 hours in the past year and a half so should be a laugh to see how many bad road bike skills i bring to the dirt.

il be there, but looks like they have restricted it to one class per bike only....

Yea last year they had so many bikes they had to shorten races i think. They can't start earlier or ride later so entries have to be restricted.

Saw a few cameras around, nobody official though I think.
Some poor bugger broke his leg on the home tabletop
Will be interesting to see the points, bummed I couldn't race 2 classes this year, picked the gentleman's 35+ Vets so will see that through to the end. Bring on May 22nd ! Need to find some fitness before then, faded from 2nd to 6th in the last race.. Weak!

I was also unfit i haven't ridden all summer and only rode 15 - 20 hours over winter. And i have forgotten how to ride ruts the road bike all summer could be to blame there. I have brought a rowing machine to try and get fitter for next round.

Some body always get injured on that table top. Unsure why its such a nice easy jump. All the jumps on that track are.

Round 2 was awesome, they did a great job on the track, tilled up loamy goodness in the morning then got nice and rough in the arvo, perfect. And I got a holeshot! Stoked. Good on you Cambridge MX club, great day.

Was awesome again!! The track was fast and held up well, great weather, no serious crashes, just a great day out racing. The work the club did on the track was a credit to them, I know I sound sad but it was bloody beautiful. Love this game!!
Hopefully we will see results up soon on the revamped website.
Only 2 races for each class next month as it is the final meeting.

I don't know about you but I don't think I will have much for Jesse Wiki.. If I even get that far! Should be good fun though!
You must be looking good for the MX1 support title eh?

1st September 2011, 08:49
Jessie is fast i think it will be a tactics thing not a speed thing its a dash anything can happen at that first corner.

Yea i think ive got it in the bag after that round. should be a 30 point lead now just waiting on results. Where are you sitting? the vets is a pretty quick class.

Last round will be good i just have to start every race to stay on top. Ill just be using it to practice speed around the top section of the course i think.
