So I'm pretty interesting in starting to do some stunt riding. The question is how, what and where?
I dont really want to use my R6 to learn on but would a cheap pit bike be a good start? I see there are a few on trademe for like a grand. Would that be good enough to get my start with wheelies and stoppies?
Also where is a good place to practice?
Cheers!

would a cheap pit bike be a good start?Thats what we did, until some gripper nicked it.
We shortened its levers and put a wheelie bar on it so we could give it death everywhere on the back wheel and have no fear. The front end was a little heavy though - ok if you sat a long way back on the seat, but adding a rear counterbalance would have made it easier for newbs. Make sure you get a bike with a huge front disc brake for stoppies. Ours would fling you over the handlebars without a moments hesitation. Sit forward on the tank and give a firm squeeze on the brakes and up she'd come no sweat.
It was bloody good fun. Must get another one. :corn:

buy a ScoprioZ and when you can wheelie/stoppie etc on that confidently, then move up to a real bike.

Pitbikes suck for stunting, the centre of gravity is way to high for the short wheelbase and the balance point is to far back an quick for most newbs to hit confidently.
Front brakes are irrelivant, you can roll stoppies on a stock crf50 with drum brakes and have no trouble.
The BEST bike to get to start stunting on is a CRF150, street tyres and 12 bar and your set for a long time, then add a hand brake and start killing combos.

haha nah hes useless, cant even does wheelies ow .
looks like i sold the F3 I was selling anyway, might chuck it up on here if the guy doesnt come through with the money.
But seriously for new riders looking to get into start out on a 50 or a 150, going straight to a big bike is alot harder than people think.

Pitbikes suck for stuntingThat much was clear to us, but for $170 it was good fun.

I started on a gixxer thou. Then built an FZR750 into a dedicated stuntah.
Don't really think it matters what you start with, so long as you spend enough time on it, and find a good spot to do it. New subdivisions are ideal, but you'll get pinged eventually if you stay too long.
