Thanks Kenny, I'll give 'em a buzz tomorrow to check - was under the impression that they were open till the 25th - but might have changed with the rain we've had - fine week so if they are open should be fine and dandy

Don't rely on Ch Ch weather...I live in Hanmer! Northerlies often bring heavy rain to St James. Snow on the passes at the moment

I checked the weather for up that way and it just happened to correspond with the ChCh stuff (which was easier to copy and paste) - will wrap warm and bring my wet weather gear (have my soft panniers on so no probs)

Yes I registered as well - did you do it during business hours - did you get a response yet?

Come on Mrs Jatz, I can see you lurking here!
The 350 would be muuuuch better (electric start is overrated) than the 250 and you could finish off the rest of the pass we missed.

And check your pressures before the ride...

Right - worked out from that that I should have read the response page when I registered - not just assumed that I would get an email with the codes on it  re-registered and got the codes, they are giving codes out until at least the 8th May so looks like she is still open :woohoo:

What time leaving Hanmer?

We'll see what happens. I am working Fri/Sat so wouldn't get there 'till Sunday.
Working on something else too, just quietly, should be a little "gnarlier" but don't tell MrsJ :innocent:

Saturday
23 April
Issued at: 1:22pm 19 April 2011
Rain about the divide, and some heavy falls possible there, scattered rain reaching the foothills for a time. Northwest winds, dying out at low levels, and gales easing about the tops.

looking less and less "noice" - creeks might be up - will wait to make final decision till later in the week - don't spose they will be turned into Grade 2 MTB tracks before next summer if it's a no go (would still like to give it a crack though)

Hey guys, we've got a bit of snow melt so the track in will be slippery and the Edwards river could be running a bit high. The last crossing before you wind your way up the hill to the Waiau is always knarly so if it is high could take a bit of a effort to cross.

Check with DOC about the condition of the hot pools up there. They used to be pugged up with cattle but could be ok now. They're just off the main track on the eastern side. Sorry can't remember the name of the gulley ( cow creek?)

You just scroll down the same page once you've entered your details for the codes.
