I move house next week. And lose my lockup garage. Which is a requirement for the bike insurance...

In about three or four weeks, the carport at the new place will be converted to a lockable garage. But in the meantime, I have, somehow, to secure the bike.

I could put it in the lockup where I will store some stuff for about that length of time. But that means travelling quite some distance to get out for a ride.

I could stick it in herself's garage. But then she'd know every time I went out riding and would probably chide me for "wasting" gas...(well, she's a girly, eh.)

Or..? What would you do?

Don't stop riding it. That will lessen the chance of it being half-inched.

Offer herself the option of having it in her garage or the lounge...

Tell herself about your reservations regarding parking the vixen in her garage.

Then tell her about the nice neighbour lady by where you are moving to, and how she is on her own with a big empty garage, since her motorbike riding husband passed away, and has said you can park the bike there.

Then enjoy going round to herself's place for those early morning rides before you get the bike out of her garage and head off to Raglan before work.

Thank me later.

Tip your head forward...no, a little further...bit more...aaah, yes...I see your problem....a herself's thumb-sized bald spot.
Grow some, man....
...and let your insurer know that you have a less secure park for a couple of weeks.

What would you do?Grow a penis and tell her indoors what's what.

It's only a month, if she's that unreasonable, divorce her.

Come on man, WTF do you think you should do... If she gives you crap about riding your bike, hold a plastic bag over her face for more than 3 minutes. Do I have to think of everything??!

Is the carport visible from the road? If it is then your screwed. Otherwise a disc lock has kept mine safe for now!

While taking it on three week pootlelydoo sounds the better option, you have a business to run eh? so...the lounge is where it should go, or anywhere inside for that matter, its a GXSR ...even the W/C will do....

Ring your insurer.
I think you'll find they'll be happy to substitute "fuck off big chain and lock" for "lock up garage" on your policy.

OK....some interesting suggestions here good people...'specially the three week riding holiday. Pity about having to earn a living, buggrit...

First up, I'm not married to herself - we live on opposite sides of the city. Works well - I can go home when I want to . But the distance is another reason (the real one) for not putting the bike in her garage...

Already spoken to insurer (Kiwibike) who were definitely concerned about lack of lock-up...the guts of it is the excess goes from $500 to $2000 if it's not under loick and key. Maybe I'll ask about the fuck-off chain and lock again...

Guess it's the lockup for a month...

Well..yeah - distinctly possible although difficult in that the place I am going to is on a slope (steepish) and access is up stairs and around corners etc...could look at the laundry though - might be just the go!

I rebuilt a motorbike in the lounge of a flat I was in once. Goddam landlord went apeshit about it even though I pointed out that it was completely dry and shiny metal with no oil or anything to mess the place up.

No insight, some of these buggers...

Sad to say, the new neighbour is some old fulla...no hot chicks in sight...didn't choose very well, did I?

There was one place I was looking at a while ago had a nice lady living next door. Some other bugger bought it though...ngngngrrrrr.

I reckon you can have a "promo" in the shop. Make some room and park it inside. Do 5% specials for anyone that proves they're a biker :D

I would park YOUR bike in MY garage untill the carport is secured. Will make sure the battery doesn't go flat. Oh! and bring it over with a full tank. Saves rust setting in. I'll flush out the 'stale' fuel before you pick it up.

BTDT...that's why I took up riding again...

In fact she thinks it's good for me to ride - just not as much as I like to, given the fact that I've had to sell my house and downgrade as a result of profligate expenditure...

The real reason for not using her garage is the distance from my own place - by the time I got there and back I'd have no morning riding time left...
