Thought I would start a new thread since the summer riding is now over. A few folk have mentioned that they still want to ride through the winter and catch up. There are still a few pubs round and about that are open, so how about we go and boast their business!

I would suggest that we pick a place and meet there at about 7pm. You don't have to come on your bike, just turning up would be good! :laugh:

sorry , never checked ph last nite . had top and sides off engine. ......hmmm 720 big bore kit......:shutup:.
mint engine inside.... putting fresh cam chain in , and run it for rest of winter, or until i get bored:innocent:

Well, I went to the pub last night and the only time I felt cold was when I spotted a lone biker come into the bar. It must have been the blueish tinge to the complexion but that soon disappeared. I did not feel guilty about not riding to the pub as my WOF had expired and apparently I'm not a hardcore biker anyway :shit:

Since I should actually be awake and not busy with assignments or work, unlike the past coupla weeks, I definitely plan on making an appearance, although I'll also probably just come in the car, what with the weather, dark, and useless headlight on my bike.

So are we going for 6pm with KP showing up a bit late, or pushing it back a little to 6:15-6:30?

Well, the reason we had the issue last time was your bike being too inconspicuous, but I'm sure you can find a way to remedy that - a quick splash of florescent orange paint could do the trick, or you could just set your bike on fire once you arrive - smoke signals are a time-proven method, right? ;)

Since you probably won't be over this side of town anyway, it probably won't interest you, but if you don't feel like riding/driving from Christchurch to Rangiora, and found anything on my lists of stuff that you want to grab, you'd be welcome to come over beforehand with an HDD, and then grab a lift with me to and from the bar in my car.

Thinking about popping in as well in the car.

I have had a series of dental root canal problems the last 3 weeks and are feeling a little better. The tooth is no longer super temperature sensitive so I can have a beer, but its not finished and it is very painful to eat on.

I thought I'd say something here rather than make a new post since I live in Christchurch. I have held my restricted for about 7 months. I know very little about bikes. So I would appreciate spending time with folks that talk bikes. I am a student and my bike is Suzuki boulevard 650. I am about to take street talk course so that I can have my full by November.

Everyone is friendly and will no doubt appreciate having someone new to regale with stories of incredibly amazing things that they've done on a bike:innocent:

There is also a ride on Sundays which leaves from BK on Moorhouse ave that you can go along on. not many people going at the moment. I can't go anymore as I now work Sundays:angry: only for 3 more weeks though:woohoo:

And check out the classic ride thread. Thats also a Sunday thing which will be coming up again soon. Last one was cancelled due to the Brass Monkey.

Was nice to see everyone, mainly people I haven't seen in ages! A beard suits Duncan very much and I hope I didn't offend (too much) by telling him it made me want to call him dad!
Also met a couple of new faces, knew the names and the bikes but never actually met, Jwalker (plus beautiful companion) and Tacoman (finally!)

The ride was nice too, cleared the head and the grit 'round here made it interesting :shit:

Was going to bring the Kat out for a hoon, cleaned up and started no problem after many months inactivity, good ol' girl, but as I was rolling out the door I noticed the tail light wasn't working.
Bollocks.
So I took the beemer. Damn, life's tough sometimes huh? :D

You should all come to Japan, it was about 30 something degrees today, was out walking 'round a waterfall in my shorts and very tempted to jump in for a dip ...
The roads are nice here too and there are LOTS of cool bikes, classic ones everywhere and some really funky odd ones. not many big superbikes, mainly classics.
See you all in a week or two ...

They are into safe riding and have a guest speaker - Charlie Lamb Director Australasian Institute of Motorcycle Studies (AIMS) project from Lincoln speaking from 8.15-8.45 on biker conspicuity ( being seen !)
