Triumph Tiger 800 and Tiger 800XC

Just been testing the new Tiger 800 and so far I'm pretty impressed! The standard model looks pretty sharp in black. Riding the XC next.

Fit some knobbles are it rips. I tried top hate it when I was running in the press bikes but it was actually fun and not too bad standing up in the pegs for a while either.
the seats fully adjustable for rider height which is an interesting feature.
Our Dirt guru threw some knobblies on the XC then took it to Pukemanu on an adventure ride in the pouring rain and carved up all the real dirt bikes off road. Got up all the hill climbs and clay tracks and never dropped it! Started last and ended up waiting at the front for everyone to catch up.
The Arrow system will just make it even more fun!
Gauge placement sucks for standup riding.
First isnt my favorite gear on it.
Apart from that, I really liked it!

I'm pretty impressed with the 800 so far. I've been on the hunt for a new bike after selling my Street Triple and when I got on this the other day I thought this is it. Its a great commuter being so high up I can see at least 5 car lengths in front of me. Its got the inline sound if that floats ya boat and I think it looks wicked in the black.
The adjustable seat height is a bonus and does make it lower for the short legged. Its easy to ride, good engine braking and responsive. I did find it a bit thristy but then that might have been because I was stretching its legs. Speaking of which it is long in length but overall great power, light and agile well balanced and easy to through around.

I think if you're a fan of the 675 you should test ride one of these esp if you take a pillion.

Haven't ridden the XC yet will hopefully get out on it when its raining and find some gravel roads with hills along the way.

VERY happy with my XC so far. Just had a weekend of adventure riding including getting stuck in a couple of bogs(somewhat predictable without full knobblies though ). Quite happy to take it anywhere I would have taken the DR. Fast gravel roads, rutted tracks, open road, twisties. A realistic do-it-all bike. Not as off road capable as a KTM 990 possibly, but certainly an equal of the F880GS. First time I've been on a ride without a numb bum- won't miss that.

There was a New 800 for demo in Palmerston North at ANZA... I would not ride it though....I was scared I would take it home!!!!:yes:

The factory fucked up the side cover mould and decided ugly was good enough so they didnt make another to replace it.
They look unfinished

I'm sure they are nice enough to ride, there are bugger all bad bikes nowadays it seems.

Obviously they are aimed at the BMW 800's, I'm pretty sure most riders would be happy with either

I saw the xc on the pukemanu ride...motor must have tonns of torque as he just burbled up the slipery hill without any drama
