...and learns all about DANGER (http://kiwiridermagazine.blogspot.com/).

Reading that, I have to say that while he probably was being a bit pushy, he's right about the likelihood of being hit by a drunk driver without implying it would be your fault. Anyone could be hit while driving/riding perfectly safely and legally as you obviously were, so unless you picked up in his manner that he would hold you to blame, take it as a general statement however unwarranted it may be.

Some I guess, can't help being a bit "officious" and you may also be victim to the "pretty girl on a bike" reaction... :innocent:

Haha good read. Those drunk drivers have it tough you know. So many moving obstacles and people driving head on to them on their side of the road.

I think that often there are those of them with nothing better to do on the company dime. Luckily your one seems to have given the road safety message a lot of thought.

Good story, well told.

Are you "sure" he was a cop? ... Might have been a vigilante group trying to make it safer for the drunk drivers out there!

+1. The why-aren't-you-at-home-with-your-dolls confusion of the male chauvinist. :apumpin:

I thought the beauty of a full licence was that you could ride the roads at any time of the day or night.

Yes, night time is a period of lower visibility and less vision for bikers but there are many a drink driver caught during daylight hours also.

WTF? There isn't much traffic at 11:30, you're more likely to get hit by another vehicle at 3 in the afternoon!

When will you boys learn it's not the size of the engine that matters it is how you use it that counts....

But was this done at 11:30pm? :shit: (obviously the danger hours for getting stuck in the grill of a drunk driver!) :Police:

You say that but deep down you know that a 1100 is probably going the demand a bit more attention than the 125 and just once, sometime, you'd like to try a 1400...

Good point. The 1100, being of greater mass, is definitely going to exert a much greater gravitational pull than the wee 125, thereby making it exponentially more attractive to any errant drunk drivers looking for a target...

(It;s like the moon vs Jupiter. No contest really)

Sorry to defy the laws of physics, love but that's what drunk drivers do. They are completely random in their targetting and they'll hit anything that gets in their way... or even if it's not in their way... or anywhere it happens to be at the time, or not...

No been riding bikes for over thirty years and a simple thing like a plastic bag on the handlebars that starts to split or wave around is exactly what can lead you to make a reaction that may be unsafe, simple as that
