So my shiney new leather pants from QuasiMoto are excellent and a good fit, but won't bloody fit inside my boots and won't go over the outside. The upshot is that they sit about 5 inches higher than they should and the knee armour diggs in no end - not so bad for the first hour but Wellington to Taupo has been painful the last three times

I'm looking at getting these to replace my current boots:
http://www.1tonne.co.nz/index.php?page=listingDetails&prodid=84&sco=&categoryid=6

But before I do, I want to be damn sure my leather pants will tuck into the top. Is there anyone who owns them and can testify how well they fit with leathers? Is there anything else I should know about them?

I could also potentially shell out for these:
http://www.1tonne.co.nz/index.php?page=listingDetails&prodid=12&sco=&categoryid=6

But considering I only sporadically go to track days and will also be riding to work/cafes etc in them, they could be too much overkill...

You're now aware of an issue, so you need to be trying them on with your leathers.

I had the same issue, tried several boots and ended up with a pair outside my budget, simply because they fitted.

Hi Dude, they arent designed to go over the outside of the boot, they are designed to go on the inside.
If they are 5 inches to high up you must be very tall as they work for people up to about 6ft 1 without trouble.
Knee Armour shouldnt be digging in, possibly for you an upgrade to the soft KNOX armour might be a option.

Thing with most cheap boots is they are to tight around the calf, and therefore are hard to do up (the Zip) I recommend trying on different boots first to make sure they fit and there are plenty out there:yes:

let me know if we can help

Not just cheap boots Quasi! I tried several Alpinestars, Gaerne, Stylmartin, F???? without luck, as they're designed for toothpicks. Only boots I could find for larger calves, were the "Sidi Mega Gore-Tex". They fit well, but I'd reluctantly recommend them.

Cheers. That's the problem with my current boots - too narrow. The pants fit fine, but as soon as I put the boots on they sit too high because they don't fit inside the boots and as you say aren't meant to go outside.

That's why I'm after a new pair - I'm curious as to whether the 1Tonne ones will have the same problem (I currently don't use 1Tonne boots).

Ideally, as Owl says, I'd like to try a whole range on. However the online ones seem good value, but I can't try first.

I have two pairs of boots - Gaerne and 1 Tonne.

Both will fit over the quasi trousers that I wear without any problems.

Not sure which model the 1 Tonnes are, but they look very like the ones you are thinking about.

These boots are designed to go on the outside and I am sure you will be impressed by them. Check out our race suit pictures as the boots are worn in photo.
