Am happy to pay for wire and gas, just want to try it out and put some framing together for a go-cart for my little boy.

It's 1.6mm bright steel, just thin enough to make it difficult with the stick welder...

Anyone in Auckland (ideally West Aucks/Kumeu area) got one?

Ideas or HW appreciated.

Awwww go on tell us the truth....

You only want to make up a frame to look like a jail.
So its to make sure that 'Tinzaroo' cant escape from work....hehehe.

Steel pah - BE GONE!

No actually it IS for my little man... he and I can go hooning after it's built. Very early days yet but I get the plans, and I got some steel... and WE'RE OFF!

I have a mig (although I will have to buy some more wire, since my current roll has gone rusty and doesn't feed well).
Be back in Akl late on Sunday, if you want to do it next week.
The other alternative is brazing or tig welding.
Have you got a tubing joint cutter - you will need to fishmouth the joins.

Silly me I thought you were looking for a MIG like in MiG-29, Mikoyan-Gurevich 'Fulcrum' I guessed you were looking to get even with a truffle hunter real bad.... could have been fun, didn't consider the obvious...

Cheers chap.

I've had one of the guys kindly offer to help me out at the mo but I'll get back to you if needed.

Am happy to pay for new wire etc if/when it comes down to it though. Fair's fair...

I found the "yard dawg" plans from DIY Den and am starting on that for a kick off... need to get a few bits machines up (steering gear and axles etc) but I'm juist starting on the frame for now. Straight forward and even though it's been a year or three since I wielded a welder it's starting to come together...
