Which bike?

Hi all, im after suggestions of which bikes i should be looking at next. I am experianced, having owned a few road bikes over the years, the bike before last a vfr400r nc30. I have a gsx250 that i am selling at the mo (long story how i got that bike) and when it sells ill be after another road bike. I am looking at two models in particular, both quite different. i commute my partner into town each morning, so it must be comfortable 2up, and during the day i serve legal documents, so riding out to different suburbs on the motorway.
I am looking in the $5000 bracket, and the bikes i am looking at are: CBR600 F4, my only worry is having to work the 600 and gears 2up and maybe to sporty for a comfortable ride for my partner. 2nd bike, vtr1000 firestorm more relaxed with lots more torque for 2up, but ive heard they are really thirsty on gas? third bike i was recomended the other day is the semi fared suzuki 1200 bandit, but im thinking a tourer is a bit overkill for what i would use it for.

I just made my choice a lot easier. Looking at the fuel consumtion for both models, vtr1000 = 8L per 100kms, CBR600f4 = 5L per 100kms. vtr 110hp, cbr600f4 105hp.
I think the CBR600 or a ZX6r will be all i need for a 60% commute and 40% motorway cruzing while stil burning less gas then a car

zx6r? I've had 4L/100km on a 06 model. Really good.

VTR has a fairly long wheel base too, turns like a small truck.

Well not really, but they do take a lot more effort to get around corners..

Will do wheelies all over the show though, your gas bill may be offset by the savings in front tires..

12litre per 100kms:shit: dam, thats like half the consumption of my small block V8 at 372cubes, that gets 25litres per 100kms lugging around 3 tonnes of plymouth fury. but i bet ya hornet is a bit quicker then my fury.

and yea a zx6r or the slightly larger one is it a 636 or somthing, they are also what im looking for, above all it needs to be comfy for the pillion (or she wont let me buy it!) i am slightly biased towards hondas tho, got a cr250 and a trx400ex sports quad in the shed too:facepalm: too many toys

The Bandit would be the easiest bike of the lot to ride two-up around town not to mention the most comfortable. It would definitely be more economical than the VTR (I've had both) and probably be as good if not better than the 600.

Bandit is good,although seat may need work to get comfy,some pillions get twitchy after 200km.Fuel range around 330-350km(19ltr)for me,doesn't seem to alter 2 up,heaps of torque,and cheap.

Push your budget up a grand and you''ll be in for one of the early Hornet 900's. Circa 2002.
Unbreakable, fill all your stated requirements and pop a set of slip-ons on to give it some extra personality.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I put my deposit on a new bike (well, new to me) I got a 1999 CBR 600 F4. I had a go on one a few years back, and wanted one ever since, i really like the rider position and pillion position,semi relaxed, while still able to be a little sporty, they just tick all the boxes for my needs (and wants)in a bike, and in the cheap rego catagory is a added bonus.
