Not many youtube videos hold my attention for 6 minutes, and considering I haven't ridden a dirt bike in like 20yrs, well that says enough for me. But I'll add this, fuck that looks very impressive.

To think Herlings is only 16yrs old & only 2nd yr at GP level.
He was 2 seconds a lap faster then all riders in mx1&2 at valkenswaard, impressed, he was on a 250 2 boot.
He shud ride southwick as a wild card & put the frighteners up the yanks.

southwick is not like a european sand track, Langston and BT have said that in the past, it has a harder base than the tracks around the Benelux area, de Ruever did go very well there tho in one moto, before the humidity got to him

Fark!

I would have trouble riding that bike at anything close to that speed on a flat paddock.

He's got some serious fitness me thinks. And talent!

He is pretty fast all tho that sand wasn't true sand it looked hard packed underneath. I was expecting super soft sand.

Very impressive. Like all of the top racers, they make it look so easy. I love riding in sand too. I've always found it weird that a lot of top moto-x racers struggle with it.

Yeah me too, I find it very forgiving and the lack of grip allows me to get away with lots of mistakes without the bike trying to bite back.

He's fast though... one day I too will be able to stand up and skip the bike over whooped up sections just on the rear wheel... well probably not, but I can dream...

The other thing with sand...is it's constant and predictable.

No doubt the fucker is faster than shit off a shovel though!

Very nice. I only look that quick when I'm asleep. He looked a bit dodgy at 3.08 landing sideways into a rut. The really good guys can get away with shit that'd see me eating mud for a week.

I love riding in sand too.

Me also. I just don't like the clean-up.

Ever riden in snow? Seriously weird.

Rule of thumb: if you can make a sand castle on it, then its a sand track.

Good vid and he's goood ...

Be nice to see how he'd go on a real bike though , 2 stroke 250 or 300 ...less weight, lot's more power and the powerband would make him fire up big time and have some real fun and do better lap times...I'd pay money to watch that one ...

You silly old fart! 'Bout time you woke up to the fact that 4 strokes are now faster than two strokes off road. Even now they let 250 two strokes race 250 four strokes here in NZ, and rider of Daryl Kings ability struggled to beat them on his YZ250!

I wonder how much of a benefit the neck brace was in that, as he seemed to land on the back of his head at a reasonable speed.

I am positive that those guys are riding at a modern day b grade pointy end speed, and easily have the talent of the todays pro motocrossers. And yea 2'' suspension with half a races dampening, Legends.
